We are looking for passionate individuals to join our Research, Design and Development team as R&T Chief Engineer at our Gloucester site.
Your Role
As R&T DCE you will be driving and leading an exciting multi-million pound transversal project working at the cutting edge of landing gear Structural Health Monitoring (SHM), utilizing Machine Learning, algorithms, and advanced neural networks to predict and assess Remaining Useful Life. We are looking for the Deputy Chief Engineer to have excellent Project Planning, Management and Delivery skills and the ability to delegate and drive actions across the plan. You will be bringing together colleagues and external resources from academia, Safran (Design, Technical Publications, Stress, Data and other functions) and other partners to ensure the timely delivery of our commitments. This is a role with excellent career development opportunities as you will be working at the very leading edge of Landing Gears systems for commercial Aircraft, so it will suit someone looking to develop into a Chief Engineer or other senior technical leader.

*Experience working in a Research environment - Essential
*Relevant technical qualifications that give you the ability to understand and overcome complex technical problems - Essential
*The ability to delegate tasks and drive their completion on time
*Proven experience of project/program delivery and leadership in a similar environment- Essential
*The ability to manage a matrix team of cross functional individuals and teams both internally and externally and various levels of seniority - Essential
*Experience of working with Funding Organisations and the reporting and reviews required - Desirable
*Experience and understanding of Technical Readiness Levels (TRL) and how to mature through validation - Desirable
