In this role, you'll play a pivotal part in assisting the HSE department with the organization and execution of the plant safety functions to include Development and implementation of policies and procedures, safety orientation, plant inspections and tours, safety committee meetings, and safety training. Essential Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)

1) Provides administrative support to the organizations environmental, health, and safety department.

2) Assist with accident and near miss investigations and safety job audits for prevention of work-related injuries with department supervisors, managers, and directors.

3) Participates in and coordinates with the Safety Supervisor and the Training Manager, regarding new hire safety and health orientation, as well as other specified training programs.

4) Gathers data and prepares reports tracking claims, inspections results, or safety incidents or violations.

5) Assists the Safety Supervisor, Management and Supervision to implement and maintain compliance with PPE programs.

6) Ability to identify and seek needed information/Research skills.

7) Assists with the development, generation and distribution of monthly Safety reports and Safety hazard reports, including safety trend analysis, hours worked and accident tracking.

8) Detail oriented.

9) Under the direction of the Safety Supervisor, updates safety handbook as necessary.

10) Ability to meet deadlines, organizational skills. Ability to understand and follow directions

11) Performs other duties as assigned.

A. Education & Qualification:

• High School Diploma required

B. Work Experience - Technical knowledge:

• Additionally, two to four years' (2-4 years) of experience in an administrative role, preferably a safety and health role in an industrial setting.

• Preferred knowledge and experience with HIPPA/OSHA compliance.

C. Professional Skills:

• Requires intermediate knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office applications.

• Requires internet and intranet usage and e-mail / fax correspondence.

• Must have the ability to generate written communication and to operate required office equipment.

• Ability to read and review written communication.

• Speech and hearing abilities that allow individual to communicate clearly and distinctly in English.

D. Behavioral Skills:

• Works under the direction of the Safety Supervisor with a high level of confidentiality, professional standards and ethics.

• Demonstrate strong organizational and coordination skills in an office environment within depth familiarity to company rules and office procedures.

• Possess good grammar and communication skills with the ability to work under pressure, set priorities and handle confidential and sensitive company matters.

• Must be able to properly handle sensitive and confidential information and work well in a team-oriented environment.

Physical Demands: This position requires extended periods of sitting while working with computers and viewing computer monitors and other office equipment. Finger dexterity needed in using misc. office equipment such as telephone, computer and copy machine, etc. Bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting up to approximately twenty pounds are required during tasks related to the job

Work environment: The work environment includes office setting with moderate office noise
