Job description
Safran Electronics & Defense, Timing Business Line (ST4D) is seeking a highly qualified Sales Manager to accelerate revenue growth in two high-priority verticals: Communications Infrastructure (land mobile radio systems, simulcast networks, and broadband backhaul) and Public Safety (next generation 911 systems, emergency communications centers, and dispatch operations). This role is a critical addition to our commercial team, responsible for building and executing a sales strategy that positions the SecureSync 2400 platform and White Rabbit technology as the precision timing standard across these sectors.
The ideal candidate brings deep domain expertise in public safety communications systems, established relationships within the land mobile radio and emergency communications ecosystem, and a proven track record of selling mission-critical infrastructure to state, local, and federal agencies. This individual will serve as both a strategic business developer and a technical authority capable of articulating the value of GPS-disciplined timing, NTP/PTP synchronization, anti-jam resilience, and sub-nanosecond White Rabbit distribution to engineering and procurement audiences
But what else? (advantages, specificities, etc.)
• Prior employment or direct partnership experience with a major land mobile radio OEM, public safety infrastructure manufacturer, or Tier 1 public safety system integrator.
• Experience selling into next generation 911, PSAP infrastructure upgrades, or emergency services IP network deployments.
• Familiarity with White Rabbit (CERN-originated sub-nanosecond timing protocol) or IEEE 1588 PTP profile implementations (telecom, power utility).
• Knowledge of GNSS vulnerability landscape: jamming, spoofing, meaconing, and resilient PNT architectures.
• Experience with federal grant-funded procurement (e.g., DHS, FEMA, NTIA emergency communications grants, public safety technology grants).
• Understanding of Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN), IEEE 802.1AS, or converged IP network timing requirements.
• Professional certifications relevant to public safety communications or project management (e.g., PMP, APCO RPL, or equivalent).
• Master's degree or MBA preferred.
Candidate skills & requirements
• Minimum 3 years of direct sales experience in public safety communications, land mobile radio infrastructure, emergency communications systems, or related critical communications technology markets.
• Demonstrated track record of achieving or exceeding annual sales quotas in capital equipment or technology infrastructure sales.
• Deep familiarity with the land mobile radio ecosystem, including major OEM platforms, system integrators, and the public safety procurement process.
• Working knowledge of precision timing and synchronization concepts: GPS/GNSS disciplining, NTP, PTP (IEEE 1588), 1PPS, 10MHz frequency references, holdover, and oscillator types (TCXO, OCXO, Rubidium).
• Established relationships with decision-makers at state and local public safety agencies, 911 authorities, and/or communications infrastructure OEM organizations.
• US citizenship required. Active or ability to obtain a US Government Secret security clearance preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical discipline.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% domestically.
