Job description

The Production Control III role serves as the primary operations liaison within the Integrated Product Team (IPT), responsible for coordinating, analyzing, and tracking the flow of materials through manufacturing departments. This position communicates program health to operations and partners with all NAT departments to ensure quality products are delivered on time. The role collaborates closely with Program Management to drive IPT status, identify requirements, and meet program milestones. Leveraging aerospace and operations expertise, the Production Control II identifies and mitigates risks early in the program lifecycle, understands internal and external constraints, and implements countermeasures to remove obstacles. The role sets priorities for operations to achieve program goals and partners with Operations Managers, Team Leaders, and Production Control I to ensure alignment and clarity on expectations. Additionally, it consults with Operations Leaders to adjust plans as needed.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Program Responsibilities:

•Conduct and support business case and plan analyses

•Assist with operations risk assessments

•Facilitate production preparation planning

•Co-lead First Article Inspection (FAI) and Last Article Inspection (LAI)

•Conduct production readiness reviews

•Support development and oversight of program budgets

•Collect and document lessons learned for continuous improvement

•Act as a liaison between program management and operations

•Identify and report roadblocks and execution gaps with recommended solutions

Operational Responsibilities:

•Set program priorities and provide strategic guidance on daily issues

•Prepare and lead operations-focused IPT meetings (Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Warehouse)

•Drive problem-solving, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and recovery plans

•Determine resource needs throughout development and production

•Collaborate with leadership to ensure resource availability

•Ensure accuracy of the Bill of Materials (BOM)

•Coordinate with Planning to validate ERP-generated production schedules

•Manage project part shortages and expedite purchase orders with Purchasing

•Support Production Control I with job and delivery requirements

•Coordinate with Engineering on drawing releases and design improvements

•Partner with Spares for pricing and lead time management

•Review and resolve Material Review Board (MRB) items

•Work closely with production to resolve manufacturing issues

•Support lean product flow initiatives

•Run weekly reports for program status visibility (e.g., Material Availability Reports, Kit Shortage Reports)

•Communicate program details and milestones across operations and Quality

•Oversee and ensure completeness of kit shipments

•Coach and mentor Production Control I employees

•Provide support to Assembly, Stores, Kitting, and Shipping as needed

•Perform other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements:

•Occasional lifting of up to 35 pounds.

•Hearing and vision within normal ranges is essential for safe conduct on the manufacturing floor and to meet job responsibilities.

Candidate skills & requirements

•Must be at least 18 years of age

•High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certifications in project or program management a plus

•Minimum of 3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in aerospace production control

•Strong knowledge of project and program management principles, including planning, scheduling, risk management, and status reporting

•Proficient in Microsoft Excel (Macros, PivotTables, Charts) and experienced with business systems that support program lifecycle management (e.g., ERP, MRP, or project management software)

•Comfortable collaborating and communicating effectively across all organizational levels

•FAA A&P certificate is desirable but not required
