Job description

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated Accountant and Financial Analyst with a strong accounting background to join our finance team. This role is responsible for providing insightful Accounting and analysis, supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data and month end reporting. The ideal candidate combines accounting and analytical acumen with a solid understanding of accounting principles to drive informed business decisions and enhance financial performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals and intercompany transactions.

• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger in accordance with GAAP.

• Assist with revenue and expense recognition in accordance with GAAP, including contract review and analysis.

• Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes through journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.

• Analyze financial results, identify trends, and provide variance explanations for management reporting.

• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls in all financial reporting activities.

• Support audits by providing documentation, reconciliations, and explanations of accounting and analytical procedures.

• Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial plans.

• Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate business performance and support strategic initiatives.

• Collaborate with accounting, operations, and leadership teams to improve reporting accuracy and streamline financial processes.

• Prepare and present financial reports, dashboards, and KPIs for leadership review.

• Conduct cost analysis, margin analysis, and profitability studies to support business decisions.

Physical Requirements:

• Office Work: The role requires sitting for extended periods, occasional standing, and lifting up to 10 pounds. Clear vision for detailed work is needed, and the environment is generally quiet.

Candidate skills & requirements

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related field (MBA or CPA preferred).

• 3–5 years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, or related roles.

• Strong understanding of GAAP and core accounting processes (general ledger, accruals, reconciliations, etc.).

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle).

• Proven ability to synthesize complex data into clear insights and actionable recommendations.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively across departments.

• High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to accuracy.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with financial modeling, dashboarding, or data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).

• Knowledge of cost accounting or manufacturing environments (if applicable).

• Demonstrated success in process improvement or financial system enhancement projects.
