Job description
The FAI Documentation Staff is responsible for preparing First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation, including ballooning of technical drawings, completing AS9102 forms, compiling required objective evidence, and uploading complete FAIRs to customer portals for approval, in compliance with aerospace standards..
-Balloon technical drawings or 3D models using FAI software (e.g., IPI, Inspection Xpert, DISCUS, Net-Inspect).
-Ensure all drawing requirements (dimensions, notes, material specs, processes) are identified and correctly ballooned.
- Complete AS9102 Forms 1, 2, and 3 as per Rev C requirements.
- Collect and compile necessary supporting documents (material certificates, process certifications, test reports, etc.).
- Verify FAIR package completeness and correctness before submission.
- Upload completed FAIRs to internal systems (PLM/ERP) and external customer portals.
- Track FAIR status and coordinate with responsible engineers or inspectors for any required corrections.
-Maintain an organized FAIR record system to support traceability and audits.
-Highlight recurring errors or gaps in FAI data to support root cause analysis and process improvement.
-Participate in training or workshops on AS9102 revisions, tools, and process updates.
-Assist Industrial Engineers in tracking FAIR performance metrics (first pass yield, turnaround time).
-Ensure compliance with AS9100 and customer-specific quality requirements
-Ensure status of first articles in production is tracked and kept up to date to provide to the engineer team.
-Document and inform Industrial Engineers of any delay in production that may affect delivery and/or cost related to first articles production.

Past experience of QC (Quality Control) and tools used for quality control will be beneficial
Candidate skills & requirements
The FAI Documentation Staff shall have one of the following qualifications(s):
-Completed vocational diploma or associate degree in a technical field (e.g., drafting, manufacturing, quality).
-Basic understanding of technical drawings and GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
-Experience working with FAI documentation, preferably in aerospace or regulated industry.
-Ability to use FAI preparation software tools.
-Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and document control systems.
-English communication is a must. Considering nature of business higher proficiency in English is preferable.
