· Occupational Summary (Position Objective & Authorities)
Objective:
Responsible for supervising the development and fabrication of dress cover patterns/cushions for seating used in the commercial aircraft industry as well as supervising Proto Procurement. Must be capable of reverse engineering of products and have working knowledge of pattern/cushion development. Experience with computer development, software for pattern making will be helpful. Works closely with Supervisor over Proto Shop Fabrication & Assembly. Works under general supervision.
· Essential Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)
Main Function Responsibilities -
A) Manages and sets schedules, manpower allocation, cost, 6S /lean requirements and safety standards.
B) Manages the day to day activities of the DEV Buyers and EDL Technicians to ensure parts are secured to meet program timelines and objectives.
C) Coordinate product changes and requirements with other internal departments and vendors.
D) Set and maintain project schedules. Document workload and capacity charts for continuous work flow.
E) Actively promotes safety in all aspects in the department.
F) Provides training to all employees and ensures each one understands his or her job responsibilities. Cross-trains employees for added efficiency.
G) Develops and maintains strong positive communications and working relations with all employees and department heads.
H) Supervises labor and material to maintain a positive flow.
I) Actively involves all employees in taking corrective action to achieve high levels of product quality to meet and exceed quality standards.
J) Creates an atmosphere for development of new concepts, ideas and methods to support continuous improvement in the department.
K) Maintains a high quality of workmanship and assumes responsibility for work performed in assigned duties.
L) Reviews drawing packages for nonstandard material.
M) Communicate design issues to Project Engineers via Proto Issue Log.
N) Communicates effectively with internal departments such as Engineering, Certification, Purchasing, and Quality Assurance as well as outside sewing companies.
O) Performs other duties as assigned.

· Qualification Requirements
A. Education & Qualification-
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
B. Work Experience - Technical knowledge-
• Three to five years' experience in Pattern Development environment.
• Must have supervisory experience.
C. Professional Skills-
• Must have knowledge of Pro/Engineering, Microsoft Project, and Excel.
• Must have MRP and scheduling experience.
• Must be able to purchase materials and products from outside vendors to support R&D Engineering and Marketing.
• Must have the ability to generate written communication and to operate required office equipment.
• Ability to read and review written communication.
• Speech and hearing abilities that allow individual to communicate clearly and distinctly in English.
D. Behavioral Skills-
• Must be able to interact with internal departments and outside sewing companies.
• Must have the ability to direct and motivate other employees.
