Job description

Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.

· 
Able to perform formal root cause & data analysis such as 5 Why's, MAAR charts or Fishbone diagrams.

· 
Can participate in or lead in Supply Chain project such as Greenbelt project.

· 
First escalation point for applying and managing contract terms as required.

· 
Capable of selecting suppliers within the Approved Supplier List at SAO level.

· 
Capable of Supplier Relationship Management including Business Reviews, escalation for performance, assessments, and visits for single BU suppliers.

· 
Logistic and Customs escalation point.

· 
Ability to negotiate contract amendments or simple contracts ( PPA).

· 
Aid in deployment of strategic targets

· 
Understanding of the market and manufacturing processes for Machining

· 
Establishes/maintains current Kan Ban agreements within Machine supplier base to determine quantity, leading Kanban health checks, verifying sufficient inventory levels. Contracts are updated.

· 
Better understanding of the supply base for Machining

· 
Place initial orders and assure supplier readiness prior to moving to the buyers – ensures smooth transition

· 
Monitor and document wins/losses in productivity plan

Safran Aerosystems Oxygen Systems US (AVOX Systems Inc) is a U.S. based Safran Company located in Lancaster, NY that designs, manufactures and services oxygen life support respiratory systems, related personal protective equipment, and aircraft accessories for the aviation and government markets. Safran Aerosystems Oxygen Systems US functions as a part of Safran, with international locations. We provide innovative oxygen solutions to the aircraft industry.

Candidate skills & requirements

Qualifications:

Education -

Required: Associate degree in Business Management or equivalent credits in Purchasing related courses

Preferred: B. A. in Business

Experience –

Required: 2-5 years materials buyer in a manufacturing environment

Preferred: 5-7 years diversified buying experience.

Special Knowledge/Skills –

Required: Proficient in Microsoft Suite

Excellent communication skills (English), purchasing

skills, including negotiations, supplier evaluation, cost

reduction, standard purchasing systems and

procedures, data management

Knowledge of Problem Solving Tools

Understanding APQP and know when to apply it.

Experience with Managing Operational contract terms

Other - Willing to travel to supplier facilities as necessary

NOTE: Internal Candidates need to be proficient in Safran General Guidance for Purchasing, including Purchasing Policies and all internal procedures.

$80,000 - $90,000 depending on experience
