Job description
This is a position for an ATA32 Architect with particular focus on Landing Gears system architecture and integration (i.e. main and nose landing gear structure, extension/retraction system, braking system, steering system; monitoring system and wheels and brakes).The candidate will be expected to work with the air framer in order to develop a complete ATA32 solution that is fully compliant to the aircraft's needs.
Specific responsibilities will be:
• Improve Safran Landing Systems understanding of the ATA32 Air framer view point.
• Capture the architecture requirements in the early phase of development and clarify theses against our final customer requirements.
• Carry out the pre-projects necessary to define the best architecture for the integrated landing system. Assess performance and reliability by prototyping the system/structure integration.
• Define development and certification plans. Define the most effective means of compliance.
• Ensure the programme gateway requirements for systems architectures are integrated into our processes
• Estimate and validate the impacts of specification changes, deviations against sub-system specifications and the impact on technical architecture options considered.
• Support technical and airworthiness objectives.
• Define and sustain generic ATA32 architectures based on development, production, service and R&T experience
• Help to shape future R&T projects to ensure future capability development aligns with business needs.
• Lead ATA 32 bid responses.
• Develop links with Air framer ATA 32 architects in order to understand future customer needs.
You will communicate and influence and manage scope of works. You will be managing the balance of internal and external customer expectations. In this role you will be driving improvements and innovations.
Travel specifictity
Desired profile
Some travel will be required to visit customers and for internal Work Shop between Gloucester/Toronto/Velizy.
Candidate skills & requirements
You need to have technical skills :
•Landing Gear systems experience
•Mechanical and/or electrical engineering and /or hydraulic (to be able to run some simple analysis)
•Knowledge of other ATA interfacing with ATA32.
•General technology knowledge of the different Landing Gear structures and systems architectures.
•Technical management of System engineering & integration (Sesames for example).
•Knowledge of certification / regulation and maintainability
You will need to demonstrate a leader ship capability, a capacity to challenge the air framer expectation with on open-minded spirit and to develop leader spirit and listening skills.
