The Position
OnPrem & Backup team serve globally our internal Roche customers and IT partners operating Roche DataCenters globally (EMEA, NALA and APAC).
In this role, you will support the Virtualization platform contributing to its evolution, maintenance, and continuous improvement, ensuring services meet operational targets, and achieve high availability and performance in meeting Roche’s business needs applying automation when possible.
You will have a strong customer focus providing consultancy services to our internal consumers.
Scripting and IaC development will be driven by you to achieve the highest degree of automation and API utilization, enabling seamless integration and delivery.
We are looking for a talented Virtualization Reliability Engineer to support our company's long-term growth and transformation.
Job responsibilities
Responsible for availability, tuning, performance, efficiency, change management, monitoring, emergency response, and capacity planning.
Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services—from inception and design through deployment, operation and refinement.
Monitor and resolve Incidents/problems with platform operations, setting priorities and ensuring all areas collaborate in the resolution when required.
Be a part of the technical solution team focusing on maintaining services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency and overall system health and improving the reliability of the IT infrastructure.
Collaborate with IT Partners, other IT departments and Managed Services suppliers in the design and delivery of complex IT solutions applying automation when possible.
Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation, and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity.
Look for continuous improvement activities both in technical, teamwork, collaboration and processes areas.
Propose continuous improvement activities.
Ensure solutions and components implemented comply with Quality/Regulatory standards, as applicable.
Virtualization technologies experience like AHV, Hyper Converged infrastructure (Nutanix, AOS)
Job Requirements
Experience acting as Devops.
Well proven scripting and automation skills with strong knowledge in provisioning, delivering, and managing infrastructure as code, CI/CD and orchestration systems.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Well demonstrated customer & delivery focus.
Ability to work effectively with team members and virtual teams from different locations and different cultural backgrounds.
Highly fluent oral and written communication skills in English. German, Spanish or Chinese (Mandarin) are significant pluses.
Proven agile methodology experience and time management skills.
Moderate to extensive travel (20-30%) required and ability to work across multiple time zones, including some on-call and extended hours work, as required.
One or more industry certifications in the respective infrastructure technology area(s) are desired.
Technology Skills
Proven experience in:
Virtualization technologies experience:
AHV, Hyper Converged infrastructure (Nutanix, AOS)
Coding and scripting: PHP, Python, Perl and/or Ruby or equivalents
Infrastructure as code technologies: Ansible, Jenkins, Puppet, Chef, SaltStack or equivalents
Education / Years of Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
You will bring 3 years of relevant work experience in one or more multinational work environments

Location: We offer a hybrid model between the Madrid Osiris office and the home office.
