Guided by this vision of enabling people to take control of diabetes management, we developed a Predictive Platform to tailor and personalize diabetes management. This solution can collect and combine therapy-relevant data to ease the daily management of diabetes using machine learning.
Here’s what we’re looking for:
We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to join us in leading and growing our Predictive Platform. As engineering at Roche Diabetes Care continues to grow, there is growing demand for efficient and scalable solutions that improve the developer experience and operational effectiveness of all our teams and systems.
Essential skills for your mission:
Hands-on software design, development, test, build, and deployment experience using technologies like NodeJS and Python, Lambda, PostgreSQL (AWS RDS), Redis (AWS ElastiCache), EKS (for the services)
Experience in Agile Software Delivery and Operations Management and people management
At least 3 years of experience in leading teams in a global environment
Your upcoming mission:

Drive the vision and strategy for our backend platform and AI training pipeline solutions
Hire and grow a team of exceptional engineers
Empower, challenge, and coach a team of engineers to grow their impact as individual technical leaders by providing them with context and continuous feedback
Collaborate closely with all teams to deliver cohesive solutions
Effectively prioritize and manage our engineering roadmaps aligned with our product roadmap
Lead technical design using solid technical principles and patterns, clean code, and future-proof architectures
You will drive software excellence in your group; measuring, protecting, and improving the speed, predictability, quality, and flexibility of software engineering
What Sets You Apart:
Great written and verbal communication
A self-motivated exceptional people leader with experience building and leading high-performance teams
Proactively give and receive feedback with a growth mindset
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; adept at active listening
Experience working with and operating production cloud infrastructure systems at large scale
Bonus skills:
Experience in software development within a regulated environment (IEC 60601, ISO 62304, ISO 82304, EN ISO 13485:2016 and Medical Device Regulation (EU) 2017/745, FDA Guidelines etc.)
Knowledge of the diabetes industry or other comparable health industries
Previous experience in developing Software as a Medical Device
