As System Engineer II, you are focusing on the development of a next-generation sequencing (NGS) platform. As part of the System Development & Integration team, you will be advancing science and ultimately helping the access to healthcare.
Your Opportunities
You will be working with wet lab systems integration, Product Definition, and formal verification and validation. The range of projects includes but not limited to internally developed products, collaborating with external partners, or outsourced development projects. In all cases, you will be responsible for coherence and compliance of the system development with Roche Sequencing Solutions systems engineering principles and processes. The work is typically complex and of considerable scope and therefore requires application of technical principles, tools and knowledge gained from previous work experience.
- You are working under general supervision, to conduct and monitor laboratory experiments utilizing established and published procedures, and technical and theoretical understanding.
- You will assume responsibility for the accuracy, quality, and timeliness of experimental results. You oversee these aspects of project work to ensure completion within the expected parameters and time frame.
- You are recommending to resolve problems encountered during experimental procedures.
- You summarize experimental results and reviews conclusions with supervisor/project leader. Also, communicates project status, particularly of significant findings of experiments in the form of reports and presentations.
- You are performing work according to established internal safety guidelines and procedures, and as specified by appropriate external regulatory agencies (e.g. OSHA).
- You will assess results for applicability, validity, and conformance to Product Requirements.
Who you are
You hold a Bachelor's degree or equivalent of 2 years of experience in engineering, sciences, or related field with thorough technical knowledge and leadership ability
As preferred: you hold a Master's Degree or equivalent of 3 years of experience
Behaviors, competencies, and qualities preferred
You bring experience in product development
A solid background in Systems Engineering processes
You have experience writing requirements documents and design specifications preferred
You have developed medical devices within FDA, ISO, and IEC requirements and guidelines including risk analysis and quality assurance preferred. Also, you have developed architecture, requirements and interface artifacts for complex systems preferred
If you have experience in developing IVD medical systems that is highly preferred.
You are knowledgeable of nucleic acid based diagnostics technology background and next-generation sequencing experience
Relocation benefits are not offered for this role. The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Santa Clara, CA is $71,300- $132,300. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
