The Summer @ Roche Intern Program has been developed to provide students with a fun yet rewarding summer through hands-on experience and numerous opportunities to network with other interns as well as employees in the organization. Additionally, we help our students meet their career development and educational goals while potentially building a future with the Roche organization. Leveraging the education you received already, we hope to give you an opportunity to grow and develop with us!
Projects and tasks that the intern is expected to perform:
· Performing experiments, analyzing the resulting data
· Develop and maintain familiarity with the current processes and procedures
· Assist in identifying opportunities for improvements
· Participate in team projects
· Monitor work to ensure quality
Minimum Qualifications:
· Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university during program calendar year 2020
· Completed at least 2 years of college/university to be eligible for the program
· Major(s) in biology, biochemistry, immunology or related fields
· Must have a ≥3.0 GPA
· Minimum availability of 12 weeks
· List previous experience and/or job duties, either through course work or industry/academia
· List participation in student organizations and/or other leadership experience
Other Qualifications:
· Letter of recommendation(s) are preferred
· Basic knowledge of biology, biochemistry, and immunology
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Strong organization skills and self-motivated
· Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, database and email software
· Perform automated immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed paraffin embedded human tissue
· Basic instrument operation and troubleshooting
· Perform preliminary assessment of staining
· Exposure to a regulated industry, Working under Design Control
· Project team responsibilities and roles in a diagnostic setting
· Background and scientific rationale for Companion Diagnostics projects
