The intern will participate in studies and experiments to develop and characterize immunohistochemistry (IHC) staining reagents and assays on automated tissue staining platforms. The intern will be part of the project team and may engage in studies for feasibility or verification work. When possible, the intern will have the opportunity to complete an individual research project related to the design and performance of an IHC assay. Such an intern project encompasses planning, designing, and performing the experiment, analyzing the resulting data and presenting the results to an interdisciplinary audience. The intern will be assigned a mentor from the Reagent and Assay Development team.
Additionally, the selected intern will be asked to participate in various intern activities, which may include workshops with leaders in the organization, our mentor program, and our Poster Symposium among other activities.

Qualifications
For this internship, the candidate should have experience working in laboratories, e.g., through prior internships or laboratory based course work. Students with areas of study such as biochemistry, molecular biology, biology, chemistry, or chemical engineering will be considered.
Program Requirements
· Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university during program calendar year 2017.
· Completed at least 2 years of college/university to be eligible for the program.
· Must have a ≥3.0 GPA
· Minimum availability of 12 weeks
· Previous experience in the job duties listed, either through course work or industry/academia
· Participation in student organizations and/or other leadership experience
What You Will Learn
The intern will learn about working in teams, owning a project from start to finish, and communicating their work to a broad audience (e.g. project teams, CDx or RTD management, etc.).
