The Summer @ Roche Intern Program has been developed to provide students with a fun yet rewarding summer through hands-on experience and numerous opportunities to network with other interns as well as employees in the organization. Program Requirements:

· 
Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university during program calendar year 2021

· 
Completed at least 2 years of college/university to be eligible for the program.

· 
Must have a ≥3.0 GPA

· 
Minimum availability of 12 weeks (Required start on or before program Welcome Reception and end date on or after Summer End Poser Symposium).

· 
Previous experience in the job duties listed, either through course work or industry/academia

· 
Participation in student organizations and/or other leadership experience

Responsibilities:

Roche Molecular Solutions (RMS) is offering an internship in clinical trial at our Tuscon, AZ, campus. This position is in the RMS Clinical Operations and Biometrics (COBM) department, and will involve close collaborations with functional areas of Logistics and Infrastructure, Pathology, Development and Biospecimen management. As an intern, you will be assigned a variety of tasks in assisting and supporting various clinical study projects in the areas of tissue diagnostics. You will be assigned to selected projects

· 
Training on RMS policies and procedures involved in, and related to, Clinical Operations and Clinical Trial Support Laboratory, both in pre-launch and post-launch studies;

· 
Developing Clinical Specimen Database

· 
Defining requirements of clinical slide storage and clinical characteristic indexing

· 
Meet with cross functional experts to determine and assessing various internal repositories for suitability

· 
Creating and implementing training, process and tools to support storage and indexing

· 
Preparing histology slides for long term storage to include cleaning, scanning and archiving.

· 
Performing clinical trial sample management activities ensuring thorough, complete, and accurate accountability and integrity of samples and related data;

· 
Understanding the regulatory environment and requirements of the IVD development process.

Qualifications:

· 
Preferred Majors: Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Medical Technologist, Molecular Biology

· 
Strong interest in education, attention to detail, organized, and highly motivated to complete project objectives within a limited timeframe.

Intern with clinical operations and/or laboratory-focused assignments to support key selected Roche Molecular Solutions Clinical Operations and Biometrics (RMS COBM) initiatives.

Principles of the Clinical Trial Process in a regulated environment

Given the current uncertainty of the global pandemic and work from home situation for 2021, the majority of internships are currently planned to be virtual with the option for interns to work remotely from within U.S. Borders. Internships that operate in business critical roles, such as Operations and Research & Development may require you to work on campus. We will keep candidates informed if this changes.
