You will be part of the Biostatistics team located in Basel, which consists about 40 statisticians. As strategic partners in drug development, we apply our drug development and statistical expertise to the design of clinical development plans, clinical studies, and non-clinical experiments. You will work in the interface between statistics of manufacturing of drugs and the associated clinical development (i.e. investigation to ensure drug is safe and efficacious). The goal is to relate quality attributes from manufacturing of biologics drugs to outcome in clinical studies.
During your internship your tasks will include:
· Understand and describe the complex supply chain which is essential to investigate a potential manufacturing modification on clinical outcome.
· Format and curate data from clinical trials.
· Data integration (clinical trials data <- > manufacturing data)
· Exploratory analysis and visualization of results
· Evaluate the robustness of the statistical model to various underlying assumptions
· Describe limitations and potential of observational data and approach.
· You are expected to summarize the outcome of your work in a written report and to give a short presentation in one of our departmental meetings.

You are an enrolled student in Bioinformatics, Biostatistics or a related field with a strong focus on applied science who is looking for a meaningful internship in a professional environment. You are highly self-motivated, passionate about working in a multinational company and you have good programming skills.
Moreover you are/have:
· keen interest in understanding complexity and explaining it easily
· Good knowledge of Python, R or at least one programming language
· Good communication skills in English
· Some basic idea of drug development would be a plus
The internship can start from May to October 2018. Please clearly indicate your preferred start date in your cover letter.
