In the Protein Metabolite and Cell Sciences (PMC), part of the Pharmaceutical Sciences (PS) global function, we generate unique insights into target biology, biomarkers and safety for projects across the Roche pharma Research and Early Development (pRED) portfolio. Within PMC, the Discovery Proteomics team works together to provide expert support to stakeholders from the pRED disease areas. Using cutting-edge mass spectrometry technology, questions such as the effect of a drug substance on the proteome and metabolome of a cell are addressed.
Further your main responsibilities include:

You develop, and optimize a method to analyze proteins from blood derived immune cells by mass spectrometry-based proteomics

You combine the method to instrument-sorted rare lymphocyte subtypes
·
You help understanding the effect of compounds on lymphocyte marker proteins expression
·
You work in an international, science driven team and have the opportunity to present your results at internal meetings
You are a hardworking, energetic and enthusiastic enrolled biochemistry, cell biology, immunology or life science master student. You have the desire to learn new skills and work flexibly and independently on a challenging and interdisciplinary project.
In addition, you will bring the following skills and experience:

You possess good protein biochemistry lab practice, a first experience in proteomics, mass spectrometry (LC-MS) or fluorescent activated cell sorting (FACS) would be an advantage

You have knowledge about quantitative proteomics approaches, understanding of LC-MS data processing and interpretation
·
You have experience with immunology methods would be beneficial
·
You are fluent in German or English
