You will be part of a dynamic, multinational research team located at the Roche Innovation Center in Zürich. Our team consists of scientists, postdocs and research associates and we work closely together with different functions within the company. Our main focus is to understand the anti-tumor immune response and to identify ways to modulate and augment it, ultimately leading to benefit of cancer patients. The focus of this position will be the assay establishment and functional in vitro testing of different immunotherapeutics with a focus on the analysis and characterization of T cell function.
As an intern in the Cancer Immunotherapy team your main tasks will include:
· Performing cutting-edge research in cancer immunology with a focus on T cell biology
· Establishing in vitro functional cellular assays (human and animal cells) to test immunomodulatory molecules and compounds
· Investigating the mechanism of action of target inhibition on anti-tumor immunity
· Designing, executing and analyzing experimental work under supervision of scientist and team members
· Presenting data at lab meetings and to the team
· Providing written record of experimental work and data analysis

We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive biology/life sciences student to join us at Roche Innovation Center Zürich.
Moreover you are/have:
· Enrolled in a Master program at the university, in the last year of your studies
· A good understanding of Cellular Biology and Immunology
· Some experience in the laboratory especially with in vitro cell culture techniques (animal and/or human cells) and with flow cytometry
· A strong team player and able to work independently
· Good command of English
The preferred start date of the internship is April 2017, but is flexible.
