The Opportunity
Roche in Midrand is seeking a Strategic Access Lead. You as our successful candidate will identify, develop and uphold relationships with key audiences, you will influence the access strategy in the country and will build on the understanding of social, legal, ethical and commercial developments within the health sector to create optimal access to Roche medicines and strengthen the company image. Your role will be to coordinate market access strategies in service of better health outcomes for more patients faster.
Key Challenges
Market Access
Develop access strategy across disease areas, including major 3rd party funders
Provide insights and analysis into reimbursement and market access landscape
Build access stakeholder networks and develop strong relationships with decision makers
Develop private payer/managed healthcare organizations engagement strategy
Develop innovative access solutions and collaborate with global access to localize value models
Tender bid management strategy with product support
Incorporate molecules on treatment guidelines of managed care organizations
Develop pricing strategy and support relationship with government officials
Act within timeframes of business priorities, identifying and providing solutions to barriers
Demonstrate a strong understanding of SA healthcare landscape
Lead, coach, and develop indirect reports to support access strategies
Display direction and leadership to take people along the journey when it comes to Market Access.
Launch Excellence
Pipeline planning and access landscaping, work with the Pods to map new disease areas and quantify molecule potential.
Co-create the new molecule map.
Collaborate on launch strategies and learnings from early launch countries.
Advocacy
Build innovative market access solutions by researching global trends, analysing trends in the context of the specific environments, developing business models and testing solutions, engaging with experts, piloting solutions and managing implementation of successful innovations as required.
Develop and support access Policy shaping (internal and External).

Who you Are:
You have a NQF 7-8 in the health sciences/business or related fields and you have 3 years market access experience. Additional experience in medical, sales and/or marketing will be advantageous.
You have knowledge of the following: The Pharmaceutical industry including regulations and product knowledge, Health systems legislation and regulations in South Africa, the Healthcare and Medical funding environment and Healthcare funding models, Pharmaco-economics and outcomes research would be advantageous, Political environment and structures and NEMLC insights.
You have the following skills and abilities: You have an analytical, entrepeneurial, growth and partnership oriented mindset. You enjoy tendering Processes, Negotiation, customer centricity, you are able to learn quickly, take risks and experiment. You have a deep understanding of patient journey(s) and related Roche products. You exhibit excellent communication skills & customer engagement skills. You are a systems thinker and you exhibit cross-functional leadership skills and you have the ability to drive and influence peers in a complex (matrix) organization.
