DMPK Scientist
The mechanistic ADME section delivers key experimental data and data interpretation expertise to small and large molecule Roche projects, enabling informed decisions to be made with respect to selection of candidate drugs and the performance of clinical drug-drug interaction studies. We contribute across the entire spectrum of drug development activities from lead optimization to new drug application filing and marketed product support. There is now an opening for a scientist in the In Vitro Pharmacokinetics and Drug-Drug Interactions team to contribute in the areas of hepatocyte stability, induction and new cellular tool development.
In this function you will:
· Supervise performance of in vitro studies to determine intrinsic clearance, enzyme inhibition and induction properties of candidate drug molecules, generating extrapolations and risk assessments which translate the in vitro findings into clinical relevance.
· Evaluate and develop new cellular tools using the latest technologies for use in an industrial ADME setting.
· Build and maintain close relationships with partner functions across the Roche organization including project leaders, modelling and simulation experts, clinical pharmacologists, chemists and bioanalysts.
You hold a PhD in biochemistry or in another relevant discipline. You have a strong background in in vitro methodologies and are able to translate in vitro results into actionable recommendations for project teams.
In addition you bring:
· a high level of self-motivation, focused and used to working flexibly and efficiently to deliver on tight timelines
· high motivation to engage colleagues to reach common goals in interdisciplinary teams, striving to develop new ways of solving project problems
· familiarity with standard hard- and software (Windows, Office and laboratory software and data evaluation applications), PK prediction tools (e.g. SimCyp), literature searches and kinetic data evaluation
· an aptitude for writing scientific publications, presentations and communications
· a very good command of written and spoken English is mandatory, good working knowledge of German or French is an asset
