“Small Molecules Technical Development” (PTDC) brings a broad range of experience across drug substance (DS), drug product (DP), and analytical sciences, and collaborates closely with key partners in the departments Research and Early Development (pRED / gRED), Small Molecules (PTC) and PTD. PTDC is responsible for late stage technical development of our small molecules (SM) pipeline and the manufacture of DS and DP for clinical studies across our SM manufacturing network.
As a Scientist within the PTDC organization with a strong preference for Solid State Science Analytics you work on development projects with associates in a flexible team model for particle and formulation characterization.
Your key responsibilities are:
· Project responsibility for efficient 'Time to market' -oriented analytical support of pharmaceutical development projects in respect of Solid State Analytics
· Development of basic physical-chemical data (analytical profile) as database for 'simulation and modeling' for galenic development and registration
· Evaluation, implementation, development, continuous improvement and validation of the analytical test methods
· Transfer of analytical methods for commercial use
· Experience in spectroscopic methods such as Raman, NIR, IR and the corresponding data analysis such as chemo metrics is an advantage
· Establish models for simulation and prediction (MVDA)
· Develop understanding of the data and foster collaborative learning with colleagues
· Use analytical tools and applications to broaden data accessibility and improve our proficiency/efficiency in understanding and using the data appropriately
· Plan resources for projects and initiatives together with flexible team Leader and Section Head
· Strive for continuous improvement of productivity and lean work processes
Your Profile
You have a PhD or Master Degree in scientific discipline and some industry experience in pharma/biopharma business in the field of Analytical R&D preferably Solid State Science.
For this Profile you bring the following qualifications:
· Team Player with strong collaboration and interpersonal skills for working in engaged teams with team members from diverse focus areas
· Understanding of Analytical R&D activities in pharma business; ideally experience in Solid State Analytics e.g. powder characterization methods
· Ability to work towards results and implement creative solutions with a high level of motivation
· Strong customer focus and ability to work collaboratively as well as independently
· Openness and flexibility to change in addition to “out of the box thinking” ability
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and German
