As a Roche Postdoctoral Fellow (RPF), you will work at the interface of industrial and academic research and receive scientific mentoring from both Roche and its academic partners. You will be part of a dynamic, multinational research team located at the Roche Innovation Center in Zürich. Our team consists of scientists, postdocs and research associates and we work closely together with different functions within the company. Our main focus is to understand the anti-tumor immune response and to identify ways to modulate and augment it, ultimately leading to benefit of cancer patients. The aim of the current project is to employ high throughput genomic screens in order to discover novel cancer immunotherapy targets, including intra/extra cellular proteins which contribute to immune suppression in the tumor microenvironment.

In this position you will:

·  Use cutting-edge methods to seek novel cancer immunotherapy targets in mouse or human cells
·  Be responsible for the design and execution of experimental work, data analysis and their written records
·  Attend and present at internal and international meetings
·  Be expected to publish data in top scientific journals

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic scientist with a demonstrated track record in basic research and interested in translating basic research into clinical applications. The ideal candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

·  A PhD degree in immunology, molecular or cell biology (obtained no longer than 2 years ago) – a strong focus on genomic functional screens is preferred
·  Solid expertise in molecular biology; experience with genome-wide screening data sets is highly desirable, or
·  Strong in vivo expertise with T cell and/or myeloid cell biology, and tumor models
·  Hands-on experience in cell culture, immunological and molecular biological assays and techniques (FACS, ELISA, FACS sorting, RT-PCR, Crispr-Cas9) is a must
·  Good publication record and excellent oral and written communication skills in English are required
