We are looking for a Principal Bioinformatics Scientist to support early Research Development on assay development efforts for our Nanopore NGS platform that will impact patient care globally. Use your Bioinformatics expertise in partnership with wet lab scientists to build the next NGS tools that will help change lives.

Responsibilities :

·  Collaborate with Bioinformatics and Assay Development Scientists to research and develop analysis tools for assays on the RSS Nanopore platform.
·  Identify and implement new development needs on bioinformatics algorithms, tools, and methods for Nanopore-based assays
·  Provide hands-on Bioinformatics data analyses and troubleshooting of Bioinformatics pipelines.
·  Follow best practices for documentation and reproducible research.
·  Present and communicate team activities/project results across multiple functions in the organization.

Requirements:

·  Bachelor's degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science or a relevant subject area plus a minimum of 9+ years of proven experience; or Master's and 7+ years or PhD and 4+ years of direct related experience; advanced degree is highly preferred
·  Proficient in general Bioinformatics tools including tools for sequence alignment, variant analysis, and database queries
·  Able to program in Python and R
·  Experienced in Bioinformatics methods development
·  Proficiency working in highly parallel computing environments
·  Proficiency working in AWS or Google Cloud a plus
·  Strong statistics, C++ or Java proficiency is a plus
·  May occasionally travel up to 10%.
