We are seeking for a talented candidate with interest, high motivation and experience in biochemistry and enzyme technology for a postdoctoral fellowship. The successful candidate will work independently within a diverse collaborative group inside and outside of Roche and will combine biochemical, molecularbiological and analytical methods to generate tailor-made enzymes for biocatalysis approaches.Modern, recombinant and enzyme engineering technologies will be of particular importance.
Your work will focus on the following aspects:
· You will be responsible for the development and characterization of tailor-made enzymes in the context of agreed project plans
· You will investigate and establish new enzymes for the application in diagnostic and pharmaceutical platforms
· In addition you will be involved in the biochemical testing of these formats
· You will be responsible for planning and execution of projects and will review and evaluate scientific literature and present your results
· Further on, your responsibility comprises the necessary close and interdisciplinary cooperation and alignment in the respective project teams
· As a team member you will be developing novel methods and technologies to improve or accelerate tailor-made enzymes
· You will be in charge of external collaborations and for securing the outcome by patent applications
· Scientific publications are part of your work and contribute to the scientific reputation of your group

· Youhold a PhD inBiochemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Chemistry or Microbiology, ideally with superior background in enzyme technology
· A demonstrated ability to think critically, work independently and solve complex problems
· Experience with biochemistry on enzymes is desirable and experience working with enzyme engineering tools is required
· Your qualification should be clearly demonstrated by at least one first author paper published or accepted in a high-quality peer-reviewed journal during your PhD
· Very good communication and interpersonal skills are your strengths. In addition you are sensitive to intercultural and interdisciplinary issues.
· You are a pro-active individual with passion and commitment to innovate healthcare through our Roche Diagnostics Postdoc Program
· Working in a team is natural to you and you have first experience in training students
· You already demonstrated personal flexibility and the capability to work independently
· Highly advanced planning and organization skills complete your profile
· You possess excellent spoken and written English skills; German is not mandatory
This position is fixed termed to 2 years.
