The role of the Portfolio Solution Architect is to work with business groups to understand their business processes and information needs and to work with other IT members to identify and design solution options that support the business needs whilst maintaining complete alignment with regional and global IT strategies. The Architect works toward consistency within and across groups and drives for reuse and simplicity. The Architect will do this by developing and maintaining a roadmap that is aligned with the business strategies and takes into consideration the technology trends. The Architects drives the implementation and provides technical and business leadership where/when needed to achieve the vision and results of the roadmap and will act as a key advisor into regional architecture planning.

Architectural Service Provisioning

·  Conceptual solution designs to meet the business needs while maintaining fit with the rest of IT strategy and technology standards are in place
·  Project reviews are done using architectural input and technology
·  All architectural activities for business and technology solutions are executed
·  Peer architects or team members are coached and supported

Solution Roadmap Maintenance

·  The 3 year solution roadmaps that align with business strategies incorporate technology trends are created and maintained
·  Functional roadmaps based on gap analysis for transitioning from current to future state architectures are created and maintained
·  Alignment of solution lifecycles with regional and global IT strategies

Enterprise Standard Maintenance

·  Application design patterns, interface standards, and development guidelines are established and enforced
·  Lifecycles of Pharma IT standards and strategies are consistently researched, developed, maintained, and communicated
·  The architecture review process that enforces adherence to defined standards, principles, and procedures for new technologies is actively supported and guided

·  5+ years experience in IT application and data specialist type roles
·  3+ years experience in an IT architecture type role
·  3+ years professional IT experience in a global IT organization
·  Degree in computer science or related discipline
·  Ability to drive innovation and improvement of organizational performance through application of original thinking to existing and emerging methods, process, products and services
·  Highly analytical and conceptual mindset and business needs focused approach to add value to the organization and customers
·  Experience working within a virtual team across cultures

·  Results oriented with excellent coordination, organizational and communication skills
·  Make decisions and recommendations clearly linked to the organization's strategy and financial goals, reflecting an awareness of external dynamics

·  Deep understanding of business processes and their execution through IT systems
