Job description

The Position

The Patient Journey Partner (PJP) focused on the Ophthalmology therapeutic area is an empowered leader and the local face of Roche who has decision making authority to request resources of Roche (both within the affiliate and broader network) in order to have an improved impact on the patient journey.

The PJP’s role in collaboration with the Market Access, Medical and Marketing functions is aimed to bring solutions to shorten the patients‘ journey to the right treatment. It doesn’t fit into the traditional concepts of Commercial/Sales or Medical Affairs as it has no profitability, sales objectives or incentives but through partnering with stakeholders develops, manages, and implements business plans and programs to ensure that long term loyalty and commitment with the customers based on ethical principles are reinforced.

The job objectives

  • Partners closely with all stakeholders, gaining a deep understanding of their needs in order to connect Roche’s capabilities to co-create meaningful solutions;
  • Bring Roche expertise, science and knowledge to the ecosystem;
  • Acts as trusted partner and is the primary (but non-exclusive) point of contact between stakeholders and Roche;
  • Shares the patient and stakeholder community needs internally, prioritizes and secures resources, and drives solutions to remove roadblocks and unlock possibilities to deliver value for patients and the community;
  • Leverage Roche’s product and service portfolio and support their appropriate use to co-create solutions with stakeholders;
  • By overseeing the patient journey in its entirety, identify new opportunities for further strategic synergies and target group development to deliver the best solutions for patients.

Essential skills & experience:

  • System thinker and deep listener;
  • Strong business acumen with desired expertise in commercialization, medical and customer experience excellence (2+ years of experience at a similar role);
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills including partnering with TAE's (Therapeutic Area Experts) and organizations is required;
  • Experience partnering with PAGs (Patient Advocacy Groups) is highly desired;
  • A proven track record of working within a team and across organization to coordinate resources effectively and formulating cross-functional strategies;
  • Demonstrable success in negotiating, consulting, and building relationships;
  • Able to understand and leverage digital means and tools is desired;
  • Deep experience in agile ways of working is desired;
  • Ability to prioritize with the outcome impact on mind;
  • Fluent in local language and English to collaborate internally across the broader Roche enterprise;
  • Flexible to travel within the Czech Republic;
  • Valid driving license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • University degree (scientific, economic, or business degree). An advanced degree in Life science and/or MBA is a plus.
