Job description

The Position

The Medical Manager is a key strategic role requiring therapeutic area expertise and clear business understanding. You will play a pivotal role in transforming clinical practice and decision-making through identifying relevant medical needs and catalyzing the clinical adoption of high medical value diagnostic solutions to improve patients' access. This role contributes to shaping the future healthcare system, and accelerating translation of medical innovation into improved health outcomes. It focuses on aligning affiliate needs to Global and Regional Medical Affairs strategies and priorities to deliver on medical education and training, healthcare professional and key opinion leaders’ engagement, scientific speaker programs, advisory boards and evidence generation in a scientific manner.

Career Opportunities and Challenges

  • You develop local Medical Plan, incl. objectives, strategies and tactics, and drive its execution in alignment with Global and Regional Medical Affairs strategies and priorities and local needs for key disease areas
  • Design and deliver disease area and diagnostics product and solution related training for customers and Roche internal roles as required
  • Localize, review and approve medical content for and prior its external publication
  • Healthcare Professional (HCP) Interface - maintain existing and build new relationships with HCP and key opinion leaders (KOLs) in assigned disease areas
  • Provide medical and scientific information in response to key scientific expert questions and enquiries from customers or internal functions
  • Lead knowledge dissemination on high medical value diagnostic solutions via organization of non- promotional, scientific speaker programs at educational events, conferences, congresses, or symposia
  • You keep up with medical content and scientific discussions on trends in clinical practice and transfer knowledge into actions addressing the local strategy
  • Drive and execute Scientific Advisory Boards to identify unmet medical needs, and discuss the relevance and economic impact of our diagnostics products and solutions for clinical practice and decision making as well as patient outcomes
  • You collaborate on shaping the future healthcare system based on an in-depth understanding of trends in patient care and clinical practice through insights gathering and early engagement at different levels of the healthcare ecosystem

Who you are

  • Post-graduate scientific degree in medicine, genomics, biology, and/or similar field; a certified Doctor (MD) is preferred
  • Education and experience as MD, ideally along one of the following disease areas: cardiology, cardio- metabolic diseases, oncology, or infectious diseases
  • Slovak – native, English – fluently
  • Deep understanding of Slovak healthcare system
  • Understanding of the role of IVD along patient journey
  • Experience in delivery of scientific presentations
  • Capability to develop relationships with external KOLs
  • Experience to network and perform in a complex matrix organization
  • Experience in the field of clinical studies, product performance evaluations or Health Economics is a plus
  • PC literate, incl. Google Suite and database management
  • Excellent communication (oral and written), presenting, articulating your message, and educating skills
  • Ability to handle conflicting priorities
  • Outcome oriented planning, executing and decision making
  • Team player, strong interpersonal skills

Salary starts from 3800 EUR gross/month. Final salary depends on the candidate's level of experience, skills and qualifications.
