The Position
The Manager Data Systems and Architecture plays a pivotal role in overseeing and driving the data strategy within our US Diagnostics organization. This role is responsible for crafting and maintaining robust, scalable, and efficient data systems and architecture. The team ensures that our data systems and pipelines are optimized for speed, reliability, seamless data ingestion, storage, and retrieval. Through active collaboration with cross-functional teams and IT, they foster a sense of ownership over business data, drive innovation in data technologies, and ensure our infrastructure evolves alongside the organization's growth. Additionally, they cultivate a data-driven culture that encourages experimentation and innovation. The Manager Data Systems and Architecture partners with peers within the Compensation and Data Excellence department to govern and maintain a single source of truth for critical business master data. This key leadership position plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between data and business outcomes, and is instrumental in fostering a data-centric culture across the organization.
Role Responsibilities
Oversees all aspects of team's daily responsibilities including setting priorities, coaching, managing workload and meeting deadlines
Partners with the IT organization to help translate business data, systems and architecture requirements
Builds relationships and effectively communicates with stakeholders to deliver projects in scope and in a timely manner
Delivers solutions that are aligned with key initiatives
Aligns team with established department process procedures while actively participating in the creation of innovative procedures to support evolving business needs
Builds a culture that encourages development, inclusion, recognition, innovation and feedback
Responsible for data quality in order to achieve established department metrics
Identifies and implements process improvements to drive efficiency, effectiveness and cost savings
Leads team with a high level of change agility by quickly accepting change and driving it in a positive manner
Embraces Agile methodologies and tools including but not limited to PDCAs, documentation management, and visual management.
Builds strong collaborative relationships with leadership team peers that includes timely feedback and communication to gain alignment
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor degree and 8 years of data management experience. Extensive experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
3 years of leadership experience with direct responsibility for people. Significant project leadership experience may be considered in lieu of direct leadership.
Preferred Requirements
Previous data management or project management experience
Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret business trends
Extensive business process management experience
Strong problem solving and consistent decision making skills
Ability to collaborate with executive leadership and provide effective enterprise wide solutions
Displays understanding of RDC sales and service organizations
