Job description

The Position

The Maintenance Planner works with the Engineering Support mechanical team and equipment owners to develop the scheduled maintenance programs and processes for Filling & Packaging Operations to optimize production. The Maintenance Planner pre-evaluates the need for critical replacement parts and places orders. The Maintenance Planner plans for interruptions in work and develops backup plans to minimize the interruptions for Filling & Packaging Operations. The Maintenance Planner ensures critical oversight of maintenance work order execution and on-time completion for maintenance compliance. Duties also include ensuring all accounting and supply chain procedures and policies are followed in relation to performing his/her duties.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates scheduling of routine maintenance activities, emergency repairs, planned shutdowns, contract labor, and ensures all maintenance work order documentation is executed and completed accordingly.
  • Orders critical spare parts and consumable maintenance supplies to support maintenance operations. Ensures spare parts data is captured in maintenance work orders.
  • Manages preventive and corrective maintenance work order monthly backlog to ensure work is completed as scheduled.
  • Creates notifications and maintenance work orders in SAP PM.
  • Develops preventive maintenance plans for equipment and works with Maintenance Supervisor, Production Planners and Owning Departmentto schedule such activities in SAP PM. Stays aligned with changes in production schedule that provide a window for execution of planned opportunistic work.
  • Be an advocate for standardizing maintenance with LEAN concepts and strategies to improve equipment uptime, improve quality, and drive down costs
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Education Level

  • High School or equivalent/Trade School Graduate or related field require
  • Associates degree in a Technology discipline (Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing ) or equivalent work experience preferred.

Years of Experience

  • Three or more years of experience in maintenance/reliability planning & scheduling in an GMP/FDA-regulated area (pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical or medical device).

Equivalent combination of education and work experience is acceptable.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) software, preferably SAP P/M module; MS office (word, excel, powerpoint) and electronic mail, Familiar with OSHA and EPA regulations. Strong technical knowledge in preventative maintenance and spare parts management.
