The Laboratory Test Optimization Consultant plays a unique and exciting role at Roche Diagnostics working directly with customers to use highly precise, highly accurate laboratory diagnostic data to drive change in healthcare. This person will work across all levels of a healthcare institution to understand how laboratory medicine can drive better patient outcomes, lower healthcare costs and allow institutions to meet objectives related to core measures and other business drivers. The Laboratory Optimization Consultant is a customer facing consultant role partnering with key stakeholders in the development of an executable Laboratory Test Optimization strategy within a customer site. This strategy will combine key insights from the Roche Data Analytic solution with customer enterprise mission and goals. This position will create/demonstrate customer value at both the lab and institutional level in reviewing chances to minimize overutilization of diagnostics and impact additional outcomes in underutilization scenarios. This role will also refine the data analytic methods and tools to demonstrate the end to end value to our customers while being creative to solve our customer’s unique challenges and needs. Finally, this role will work with the US Product Management team to collect feedback / voice of the customer input to improve the overall analytic solution products and services Roche supports Duties are varied and complex often involving research, analysis and solution development. Provides direction on issues of area of expertise and assist department leadership in setting strategic direction. Typically a higher level professional position. Requires the regular use of originality and ingenuity. Responsible for maintaining and continuously improving the quality system and achieving quality objectives through daily actions.

The Laboratory Test Optimization Consultant will:

• Develop advanced competency with the Roche Data Analytic solution.

• Manage early adopters and drive customer engagement with the Roche Data Analytic solution.

• Work closely with external customers to identify key insights and trends derived from data to drive efficiencies within the lab and outside the lab.

• Consult with all levels of a healthcare organization from department heads to C-suite to advise customers on developing and executing a laboratory test utilization plan. Including industry best practices and customized plans for a given customer location(s).

• Partner with key stakeholders to document how the Roche Data Analytic solution impacts clinical, operational, and financial outcomes.

• Financial modeling to drive value based adoption of Roche Data Analytic solution(s).

• Collaborate with the Marketing and Product Development teams to outline:

o Best practices in utilizing data o Evolving analytic needs in the market

o New sources and uses of data within a healthcare enterprise

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business or healthcare related field required
• Extensive laboratory and/or a minimum of 3 years healthcare management experience required
• Thorough understanding of data analytics and/or experience in utilizing data to drive and influence decisions
• Ability to use analytical methods and applications to support consulting engagement and conclusions/recommendations
• Ability to help define and contribute to new business concept within Roche’s Commercial IT organization and beyond
• Strong verbal and written communication skills. This includes the ability to credibly recommend changes to lab and IT process, as well as healthcare enterprise organization goals
• Ability to travel up to 70% of the time
