Job description

The Position

Mission

The Business Analyst plays an active part in driving innovative and scalable solutions to bring value to business, as well as covering the solution’s lifecycle management to suit respective markets. You will oversee and perform analytical and conceptual activities to one or many accounted business domain(s) against internal business partners.

What you’ll be working on

1. Is an active part in the product’s lifecycle management and ensures that any solution is chosen to fulfill known and understood business requirements, fitting into the Product roadmap definitions and continuously providing business value over its lifecycle.

2. Often assumes the additional role of IT Business Partner, Product Manager, Squad Lead where appropriate

3. Develops and maintains the business case including high level solution options and resource estimates and resource confirmation as in support to the strategic backlog management process

4. Acts as an interface between business and IT functions and as a contact point for business leads in order to launch initiatives, leading and driving the scoping phase.

5. Collaborates with IT Business Partner and/or Product Manager in business development activities like translating business strategy in technology enabled strategies, C-POD activities, portfolio management processes, feasibility studies, clarifying available technology on the market and vendor selection (RFI/RFP/RFQ)

6. Strives for harmonization of business processes across sites and departments by propagating common standardized data models, applications and technologies that are in line with the cross-functional or functional Informatics strategies and architectures.

7. Performs typical Business Analysis activities and creates deliverables as per Roche standards within a squad/project like a Business Case, Project Charter and URS/User Stories

8. Works with delivery and the project team to ensure that the final solution matches the URS and customer’s needs and is delivered according to plan

The ideal candidate

1. Has business domain expertise in at least one of following areas, and have knowledge in Digital solutions,
  • Business process management,
  • Customer relations management,
  • User experience and/or design thinking, and
  • Emerging technologies.

2. Has the typical skills expected from a Business Analyst, i.e.: business partnering, ability to quickly learn new business domains, requirements elicitation and management, business process analysis and design, usability and the ability to facilitate workshops

3. Has an Agile mindset in the approach to work, i.e.:Enables a diverse group of partners to speak with a single voice
  • Ensures the right information is available to the development team in the right level of detail at the right time so that the product can be developed and matches customers needs
  • Exhibits intellectual curiosity and integrity and has strong passion to bring value-adding technology to the business. 
  • Exhibits strong soft skills typically required as a BA (i.e.: active listening, challenging the status quo).

4. Excellent communication skills, both in English and Chinese

5. Experience working in a multi-national company is preferred

6. Experience working on multi-country and/or enterprise-level projects is preferred
