The Position
Strategic Insights is part of the Global Marketing & Customer Insights function for Roche Diagnostic Solutions (RDS) In Strategic Insights we generate and work with data related to the market, customers, and accounts to help answer key business questions and synthesize this information in a readily accessible form. We are looking for a summer intern who is interested in developing their skill set to apply analytical reasoning and problem solving to interesting commercial problems in the diagnostic industry.
This internship position is located in Pleasanton, California.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for developing and delivering a plan to answer a well-defined business question over the course of the internship, including conducting internal interviews and leveraging external and internal data sources
Coordinate with subject matter experts over the course of the project to bring the best internal knowledge and expertise to the project topic
Interact frequently with SI team members and leadership to ensure that the project is on track and incorporate feedback on methods and communication
Deliver findings for senior leadership as a Powerpoint presentation with leave-behind supporting information
Program Highlights
Intensive 12 weeks, full time (40 hours per week) paid internship
Program start dates are in May/June
A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship.
Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects
Learn from and work with some of the most talented people in the industry
Gain experience in effective business presentation and communication to senior leadership
Who You Are (Required)
Required Education
You meet one of the following criteria:
- Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree (enrolled student)
- Must be pursuing a Master's Degree (enrolled student)
Preferred majors: Business and/or STEM majors preferred but not required if other requirements are met
Required skills:
Good understanding and comprehension of scientific terminology, particularly related to the medical industry
Open-minded and flexible, with strong analytical skills
Accurate working style and able to work under pressure/ within tight timelines
Familiarity with Google Slides/Microsoft Powerpoint and Google Sheets/Microsoft Excel
Preferred Qualifications
Excellent oral and written communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location for this position in California is $21.00 - $55.00 per hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
