Genentech's Finance Controlling and Accounting (C&A) group is focused on supporting processes and systems that enable our business partners and customers to meet their objectives. They deliver this support efficiently and effectively, utilizing well designed processes, best-in-class systems, and people with integrity, dedication, technical skills, and a customer-service orientation. C&A in South San Francisco provides support in the following areas: Accounting and Reporting, Shared Services, Financial Systems support, and Business Partnering activities.

Undergrad interns will contribute to meaningful projects, interacting and working side-by-side with experts in the Genentech Corporate Accounting and Controlling group. Key projects and learning opportunities are focused on high profile areas that will flex collaboration and problem-solving skills while getting exposure to Senior Leadership.

Applicants should have a long term interest and commitment to a career supporting financial accounting and reporting, internal controls, financial systems, and shared service functions.

·  3rd or 4th year student,or recent graduate inAccounting or Finance on a CPA track
·  Strong technical, quantitative and analytical skills
·  Excellent communication skills; comfortable with giving presentations
·  Demonstrated collaboration and teamwork experience
·  Drive to consistently deliver results and excel
·  Skilled in time management - able to manage multiple priorities and projects
·  Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently
·  Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
·  Knowledge of financial accounting systems such as Oracle SAP a plus
