Based in a state of the art site in Burgess Hill (15 minutes by train from Brighton), we are giving one graduate or undergraduate the opportunity to work as a Health Economics Intern, within Roche's Access and Innovation (A&I) team, starting Summer 2019 for a 12-month period.

Roche Diagnostics provides a wide range of products and services to the NHS to help clinicians with the diagnosis and treatment of patients. The Health Economic Function is responsible for ensuring the value of diagnostics to the patient and healthcare system are clearly demonstrated, to position them at the heart of care pathways and at the forefront of clinicians' decisions.

The Position

This is an excellent opportunity for a Health Economics or Economics (with Health Economics understanding) undergraduate/graduate seeking a 12-month placement.

You will be working at the heart of the Health Economic function and closely to the healthcare development and marketing teams to gain invaluable market access knowledge and expertise. You will be contributing to key projects including value proposition development, health economic research and publications and specific disease related projects. You will provide support to the wider HDSS and Roche Diagnostics teams across the UK and Ireland.

Other key responsibilities include:

·  Researching disease areas and understanding the current treatment landscape, including resource use and cost parameters
·  Analysing, interpreting and potentially training on efficacy, safety and cost-effectiveness data
·  Being an integral part of the NICE liaison work
·  Developing a range of tools and materials to support market access activities at a national, regional and local level
·  Leading the implementation of tools and materials to internal and external stakeholders in order to accelerate adoption of our high medical value products

We are looking for a flexible, hardworking and highly motivated individual with an inquiring mind. A strategic thinker with an entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to prioritise and deliver, you can drive change and adoption of new concepts.

In order to be successful in this role you will have excellent computer & web skills, as well as the ability to work reliably and to deadlines. You must be degree educated in Health Economics or Economics (with Health Economic exposure); a Master's degree would be preferred. You will be a strong communicator, able to work independently and within a team. You will also have the ability to develop effective working relationships with a wide range of colleagues and external partners. You will possess an outstanding eye for detail and quality. Knowledge of statistical analysis/modelling software such as SAS, STATA or TreeAge would be an advantage.
