About Roche Diagnostics Suzhou (RDSZ)
Roche Diagnostics (Suzhou) Ltd. was established in April 2015, with an approximate investment of 600 million U.S. dollar as of today. As the first Roche Diagnostics manufacturing site with an R&D center in Asia, it is established to fuel the rapid and continuous growth in China and the region. It will not only strengthen Roche Diagnostics’ global manufacturing network, but also contribute to the company’s strategy for sustaining its leadership position in the region.
Diagnostics Suzhou has more than 600 skilled talents and a wide range of equipment and technologies. It focuses on the development and production of broad range of Diagnostics IVD assays and instruments, which are crucial to clinical laboratory testing. The products are mainly produced for our markets in the APAC region.
Position Context and Key Responsibilities:
The Head of Roche Diagnostics Suzhou serves as the General Manager for the entire site, responsible for all administrative activities. Additionally, the position has direct responsibility for all operational activities including manufacturing, quality, procurement, supply chain, etc. They are responsible for the production of high quality, cost effective products and will ensure that the site is fully compliant with all legal and/or Roche requirements. Finally, as the senior most responsible management executive located at this site, they will serve as the primary contact for internal and external interfaces to the organization.
The main responsibilities are as follows:
General
- Ensure that the site operates in a fully compliant manner
- Ensure the reliable supply of high quality products
- Ensure safe, cost-effective and efficient operations
- Drive Suzhou site commercial ramp-up and new product portfolio phase-in
- Achieve overall site goals in a sustainable manner
- Develop and implement the site strategy aligned with the broader Roche Diagnostics Divisional and Global Operations strategy
- Contribute to the overall performance of the Global Operations organization as a member of the Global Operations Leadership Team
Safety, Health & Environment
- Ensure that all applicable Safety, Health & Environment requirements are fulfilled to comply with corporate group policy and local legal requirements.
- Serve as a role model for the promotion of responsible SHE practices inside and outside of the organization.
- Develop and implement the site sustainability roadmap with clear targets and consequential actions.
Leadership & People Management
- Serve as a role model for the entire organization living the Roche Values and Leadership Commitments.
- Lead and inspire people by creating a winning spirit across the entire organization.
- Establish high standards of performance for the site and actively coach your team in the pursuit of achievement.
- Drive collaboration within the site, across the entire Global Operations network, and with all other relevant stakeholders.
- Build (recruit) an incredibly strong team and continue their development.
Critical Experiences and Qualifications:
- Significant cross-functional work experience in the Diagnostics or related industry (e.g. in the field of Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality & Regulatory, Business Development)
- Demonstrated senior leadership capabilities including leading and creating multi-functional / (interdisciplinary) teams, and successfully managing corresponding international projects
- Experience in working in China a significant plus
- Thorough understanding of the diagnostics operations process, with a minimum 15 year's hands-on manufacturing / supply chain / regulatory / business experience. Proven track record in a global Diagnostics or Pharmaceuticals business environment
- Proven track record of consensus building and conflict management in challenging or difficult situations
- Proven track record in a global organization with a matrix setup
