The Position

The Head of Creative Services will play a pivotal role within the CXI Digital Content and Services team - The Lab, overseeing the management of The Lab's Creative services team. The Lab serves as a central hub for content management, production, campaign execution, and other digital services for customer-facing interactions. It was established to meet the demand of affiliate and global teams for delivering high-quality content and digital services seamlessly, at scale and speed, while driving increased cost efficiencies. As part of our commitment to the One Roche approach, which emphasizes proximity to business and brand needs, we aim to internalize critical Lab services.

The primary responsibility of the role is to streamline and advance the internal creative services offered globally, including managing and governing internal and external teams, while monitoring Roche’s content KPIs at a global level. Working closely with Global product teams and other stakeholders, the Head of Creative Services will design and ensure a seamless service experience, acting as an escalation point when necessary. Additionally, the role will focus on service design, delivery, user experience, and optimization of current digital spending across GP3 and PI. This includes overseeing a service delivery team comprising resources from suppliers, contractors, or Roche Shared Service Centers.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Creative Services who can lead and streamline our internal content creative service teams. The ideal candidate will excel in managing internal resources while also fostering effective collaboration with external agencies to produce high-value content. This role requires a strategic thinker capable of designing and implementing an efficient operating model for creative work, optimizing both internal and external resources to align with the company's objectives

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Lead and mentor internal content creative service teams, fostering their professional growth and development within a matrix organization and also work closely with internal marketing teams to align creative strategies and concepts with marketing goals and initiatives

Service Design and Delivery:

  • Design an operating model for creative work, optimizing both internal and external resources to maximize efficienc and implement sustainable standards of creative services to enhance user experience and reduce overall spending. You collaborate with global and affiliate teams to develop content strategies that advance business objectives and maximize customer engagement

External Agency Collaboration:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with external creative agencies and suppliers, leveraging their expertise and resources to deliver high-quality content. Strong collaboration with Global Procurement on optimizing the creative agency vendor landscape and embedding “fit-for-purpose” usage of external support in alignment with the operating model of the lab

Process Optimization:

  • Develop and implement efficient processes and workflows for content creation, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effectivenes and also ensure quality control and consistency of all creative output, maintaining brand standards across all content produced

Budget Management:

  • Effectively manage the creative services budget, allocating resources to meet project requirements and objectives

Stakeholder Communication:

  • Regularly communicate with internal stakeholders to provide updates on project status and gather feedback. Collaborate cross-functionally to align creative initiatives with overall business objectives

Technology and Optimization:

  • Understand and leverage technology tools and platforms supporting the digital content ecosyste and Identify opportunities to innovate and advance Digital Asset Management capabilities to optimize content delivery. You lead engagement with agency partners for implementing and embedding DAM practices and behaviors

Key Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Multiple years of Pharma marketing or creative agency experience preferably in the healthcare and consumer goods industries with deep knowledge of industry trends and best practices in content creation and creative services

  • Strategic thinker with demonstrated success in developing and implementing creative strategies aligned with business objectives

  • Experience working across borders in multi-culture environment combined with experience to navigate complexity and ambiguity to strategic decision making and have a mindset to collaborate as one Team

  • Leadership experience in leading and managing digital marketing teams. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to drive alignment among cross-functional and global teams

  • A strong mindset of applying VACC leadership principles (VACC - Visionary, Architect, Catalyst, Coach). You are initiative-driven with a customer-centric approach and impeccable ethics

  • Experience and exposure to Gen AI and other tools. Proficiency with Veeva Vault PromoMats and other digital asset management tools

  • Bachelor's degree in business or a quantitative field, advanced degree(s) preferred

Note: Periodic business travel may be required (10 – 25%)
