Global Product Strategy, the department to which this position belongs to, provides strategic business direction from research through to development, commercialisation and medical excellence, collaborating with functions and affiliates to shape the future of medicine.
This position reports into the Strategic Insights and Analysis team within the Business Insights & Operations function.
The Strategic Insights & Analysis Team provides high quality insights on the brand(s) and the market environment for the relevant disease area based on market research, publicly available brand and market information, and non-publicly available brand and market intelligence.
The Group Lead Strategic Insights Manager (GLSIM) leads a group of 5 or 6 Strategic Insights Managers and reports to the Oncology Strategic Insights Leader. It is an international role based in Basel and it will require travelling internationally.
In this position you will:
· Identify critical Therapeutic / Franchise business issues and opportunities for growth, collaborate with key stakeholders, and work to embed an external market point-of view into the strategic direction of the company
· Lead, coach and develop your team to proactively seek insights through assessment of external marketplace/other related factors to support strategic decision-making
· Define/oversee various projects and other work completed by direct/indirect report(s) and deliver insights to positively impact business decisions
· Participate actively in global commercial planning efforts by providing unbiased, objective, in-depth analysis and insights on current and future markets, product performance, customers, and competitors
· Ensure provision of strategic insights/recommendations; enabling business partners/stakeholders to make the best-informed decisions regarding their strategies, and plans and develop/manage operating budgets and other resource requirements, handle Talent Management & Career Development.

· You have a Bachelors' degree (preferably in biology or a business discipline) and a minimum of 3 years' experience in business development, strategic consulting or other analytical work in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry. An MBA or other related graduate-level degree (Masters or PhD in life sciences preferably) is a plus and you ideally have previous leadership/people management experience
· You are experienced in conducting primary market research and quantitative analysis, basic experience in forecasting is required
· You have experience in using Excel-based models
· Experience in oncology is a plus, as well as global pharmaceutical brand experience
· You are an excellent communicator with the ability to enthuse and engage audiences at all levels of the organization; fluency in written and spoken, English is a must, you take initiative to identify and implement innovate solutions and you are a strong team player.
