Genomic Capital Equipment Specialist (East)
As a Capital Equipment Specialist you will be responsible for managing the specified sales territory to present and sell qPCR, nucleic acid purification and novel genomic capital equipment within the Roche Sequencing and Life Science portfolio. You will focus on expanding and growing accounts including industrial, Biotech, Pharma, and Universities engaged in research and clinical applications that depend on genomic methods, including next generation sequencing. To be successful in this role, you will:
• Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers to meet and exceed sales objectives in targeted accounts
• Develop and implement a strategic capital account sales plan to achieve or exceed sales revenue targets for Roche qPCR, Nucleic Acid Purification (NAP), tissue micro-dissection and other genomics capital equipment, including all relevant pull through products.
• Effectively deploy clinically relevant product features / benefits, financial justification/ROI tools, facilitate demos, develop business cases aimed at assisting in capital committee reviews and the budgeting process.
• Demonstrate sufficient technical understanding of relevant instrumentation to be of value to customers
• Develop new sales opportunities within the territory and assigned accounts to meet and exceed sales goals.
• Generate demand and maximize product awareness by working with and providing education and information to customers.
• Provide direct information to internal teams on customer needs to market and design account specific account promotion, seminars and exhibitions to support strategic goals on a tactical basis.
• Work closely with Consumable Sales and Field Application Specialist counterparts to drive incremental business
• Use your strong negotiation skills to present all contract proposals to customers to maximize overall business and profitability.
• Network and interface with internal colleagues to share information and best practices while remaining actively involved in industry/customer organizations that impact business.
Territory: Northeast US
Preferred candidates will reside within 50 miles of Boston, MA, Manhattan, NY or Baltimore, MD. The states included in this territory include: CT, DE, DC, ME, MD, MA, NH, NJ, NY, PA, RI, VT, VA, WV.

•Have a Bachelor’s degree in Life Science, Business, or related field.
• Have a minimum of 5 years of sales experience selling capital equipment in the diagnostics/life sciences industry or highly technical product portfolio sales experience within a 500 fortune company.
• Have an understanding of Quantitative PCR, molecular biology, and genomic techniques.
• Have demonstrated excellent negotiation, strategic planning, and organizational skills
• Have demonstrated the ability undercover needs in highly technical situations and provide customers with business solution
• Have the ability of leveraging internal resources and work effectively with counterparts for customer retention, expansion of existing accounts, and develop new business.
• Have an entrepreneurial spirit, strong business acumen, and a desire to conquer complex sales processes
• Are willing to travel 50% - 75% overnight.

Preferred:
• 3 years of experience/hands on in laboratory or research environment
• Experience selling instruments/reagents utilized for research or clinical applications which involves genomic methods.
• Have an understanding of next generation sequencing and/or tissue microdissection
