You are a proactive and versatile Full Stack Developer, adept at not only coding, but also influencing architectural decisions, ensuring code quality, and collaborating effectively with a diverse team. You are a person familiar with custom software development and modern tools and techniques to continuously deliver and reliably maintain the software. You are passionate about technology and you play a pivotal role in driving technical excellence within the projects you are working on.

Job responsibilities

As Full Stack Developer, you will join the Software Engineering chapter, working alongside other internal experts, specializing in various aspects of software engineering. Together, the team collaborates on multiple products that cater to Roche's internal business requirements.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Create and optimize clean efficient code across the full software stack.

  • Develop new features in primary languages used in the product technical landscape such as Java, Python, SQL, HTML and CSS.

  • Contribute to the design and scalability of the platform for seamless integration of new features.

  • Collaborate with architects and developers to establish technical specifications.

  • Foster a culture of collaboration and innovation within the cross-functional team.

  • Partner with the Product Owner to analyze user stories and convert them into precise technical requirements.

  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools like Gitlab and Bash scripting for efficient releases.

  • Automate deployment processes to ensure rapid and reliable software deployment.

  • Create automated test cases to automatically provide validation of implemented functionality 

  • Work closely with software developers, system architects, UX/UI designers, and stakeholders to deliver cohesive solutions.

  • Effectively communicate technical concepts through presentations to the team and stakeholders.

  • Document code, technical designs, and system processes for reference.

  • Keep abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in full-stack development.

Job requirements

The following skills are a must for the job:

  • Advanced proficiency in Java.

  • Experience with CI/CD Pipelining (Gitlab/Bash).

  • Medium proficiency in Python.

  • Experience with API Management Tools (preferably Mulesoft).

  • Proficiency in SQL, specifically working on Data Meshes (Snowflake).

  • Experience working in a SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) environment.

  • Essential effective oral and written communication skills in English. 

  • Moderate travel required and ability to work across multiple time zones.

Additionally, as a nice to have:

  • Experience in developing and using validated systems.

  • Experience with codebeamer development or other ALM systems such as Jira, Azure DevOps, GitLab, etc.

  • Understanding of Process Modelling.

  • Proficiency in HTML and CSS.

Education / Years of Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent work experience in software development

  • You bring 3-5 years of relevant work experience in one or more multinational work environments (e.g. healthcare industry experience is a plus).

  • Good analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Good communication and collaboration skills
