Global Product Strategy provides strategic business direction from research through to development, commercialization and medical excellence, collaborating with functions and affiliates to shape the future of medicine.
The Strategic Insights & Analysis Team provides high quality insights on the brand(s) and the market environment for the relevant disease area based on market research, publicly available brand and market information, and non-publicly available brand and market intelligence.
As a Competitive Intelligence Franchise Lead (CIFL) you will act as a strategic business partner to Oncology Franchise Heads, Lifecycle Teams (LCTs), International Business Teams (IBTs) and other cross functional and affiliate teams.
In this role, you will have people management and individual contributor responsibilities. You will provide objective competitive assessments and analyses to enable effective and informed decision-making. This includes insights on dynamic market changes on competition and other insights that positively impact business decisions and strategy.
In this position, you will be primarily accountable for consistently, effectively :
- Lead CI strategy, mission and objectives within the relevant Franchise Area and drive translation of competitive findings into business recommendations that deliver current and future business success for the organization
- Drive and execute integrated CI plans and recommendations to address key business questions from Development and Business Franchises
- Ensure Franchise teams have actionable intelligence, understanding of relevant competitors and competitive landscape and enable business partners to make the best-informed decisions regarding their strategies, plans and comply with all
laws, regulations and policies that govern the conduct of Roche activities
- Ensure cross functional stakeholder alignment within Therapeutic Area / Business Franchise in support of CI initiatives and deliverables and ensure alignment with broader Strategic Insights and Analytics team and collaboration with the US
CI group to maximize synergies and minimize overlap
- Acting as a competitive intelligence (CI) expert in developing and delivering regular CI analyses, insights and reporting
- Partnering across Business Insights & Operations (BIO), GPS, other functions and key affiliate teams to understand business strategies and needs and ensure delivery of targeted, CI to meet or exceed internal partner/stakeholder objectives
- Leading the collection of CI from internal and external sources and undertaking the synthesis and dissemination of this information to support decision-making, promoting and maintaining best practice CI
- Leading the coordination, planning and execution of CI at conferences, conducting strategic workshops
- Partnering with International Strategic Insights Managers (ISIMs) and US CI to support global and affiliate brand teams on key strategic decision-making
- Managing external CI or other relevant vendor relationships and deliverables
- Ensuring assigned goals and objectives are met and that assigned projects and other work are completed on time, to high standards and within budget.

Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree (life sciences or related discipline is a plus) , MBA or other related Graduate-level Degree is preferred (Masters or PhD in a life sciences discipline is a plus)
- 3 or more years' strategic consulting or other analytical experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or related industry or supplier organization
- Experience with quantitative and qualitative CI techniques and projects, experience includes past responsibilities for integrating and synthesizing findings from multiple sources to enable informed strategic decision–making and business insights
- Project management experience in a complex and multiple project environment
- Experience in respiratory is a plus, as well as global pharmaceutical brand experience
- International or global work experience is a plus, ability to travel globally
- Fluency in written and spoken English is a must
