Role Purpose

As an Affiliate Finance Enterprise Partner (FEP) you serve as a key business partner to the commercial organization within the respective affiliates. You leverage your in-depth business understanding combined with financial expertise in driving forward initiatives critical to delivering the strategy. The Finance Enterprise Partner also builds networks across the organization (including the Value Enabler Chapters) to share best practices and co-create solutions that create value for the affiliate but also for Roche. As a Finance Enterprise Partner you act as a sparring partner, challenger and decision supporter for your business partners to ensure efficient resource allocation to optimize our return on investment.
 

Your Key Responsibilities

Area: Business Partnering

  • Partner with the business and support in negotiating with external stakeholders (customers, HCP's, key accounts) throughout the customer journey.

  • Support the commercial team in driving closure of key customer issues (e.g., pricing, contract compliance, contract negotiation)

  • Stay abreast of and scan the internal/external business landscape for trends, issues and opportunities to create value.

  • Provide financial analysis, financial modeling, consultation, transparency and insights to make good business decisions and achieve business objectives.Work with Business Insight Value Enabler to provide strategic input for predictive financial modeling and data analytics.

  • Balance resource allocation across competing priorities and provide advice on financial implications of proposed business activities.

  • For the respective business area & key accounts, assure financials are on track to achieve targeted business results and metrics or advise deviations and corrective actions.

    • deal review & negotiation of commercial terms

    • cost center monitoring & analysis

    • profit monitoring & analysis

  • Collaborate with the VE chapter resources to ensure a seamless customer experiences

  • Serve as a knowledge connector across business areas, functions, divisions and geography.

  • Identify and support process improvement initiatives

  • Participates as a pro active member in innovation business sprints

Area: Business Planning 

  • Lead planning event processes for local affiliate – business plan, budget and the monthly outlook

  • Provide structured analysis of plan assumptions and performance targets and enable the business to make informed decisions.

  • Provide analytics and innovative insights, resource allocation models and financial modeling tools on affiliate level with the full market P&L & balance sheet in scope

As a member of the affiliate finance organization you will primarily support the local business needs (80%), while also contributing to above country initiatives (20%).
 

Expected Skills and Capabilities

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related field. MBA or professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA) is preferred but not a must

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience in Finance roles (e.g., FP&A, Planning & Controlling, etc)

  • Business Acumen & Entrepreneurial Spirit in challenging the status quo and suggesting new solutions to complex issues.

  • Strong Business Partner Skills, ‘seating at the table’ with the internal and external customers. 

  • Capacity to swarm strategically and operationally across the business. 

  • Leadership experience in working with self-aligned teams seeking for fast implementation of solutions in uncertain environments.

  • Negotiation skills and ability to build strong partnerships, internally and externally.

  • Enterprise mindset, connecting the dots and seeking for synergies that can concrete a bigger impact.

  • Influence and communication skills that aim to share and absorb learnings and best practices across borders for the benefit of the entire organization.

  • Proactivity to learn new concepts as going along the process as well as to find ways to continuously improve his/her capabilities.

  • Language skills: English and Cantonese
