Data Science Intern (6 months)
Stage Basel (Bezirk Arlesheim) IT development
Job description
Job facts
At Roche, we believe health information technology systems can facilitate physicians' effort to provide better care.
Roche Diagnostic Information Solutions (DIS) offers NAVIFY Tumor Board product, a digital solution that supports oncology care teams to review, discuss and align on treatment decisions for cancer patients. As a clinical decision support system, NAVIFY is expected to provide analytical capabilities.
This position is offered at Advanced Analytics (AA) group, a team of quantitative scientists, in the department of DIS.
In AA, we leverage the potential of medical knowledge gained from real-world data (RWD). The increasing volume of RWD provides the opportunity to supplement decision making with evidence-based population information. Patient similarity is a fundamental component for researching the most and the least effective treatment on real-world data of similar individuals with comparable health conditions
As an intern, you will explore and apply analytics based on patient similarity that will enable the care team, through Navify, to identify clinically meaningful pools of similar patients. Such pools could provide actionable information related to treatments and other outcomes.
The duration of this research project will be 6 months.
In this position you will focus on the following:
·
Conduct a systematic review of patient similarity measures and synthesize findings
·
Apply identified patient similarity methods and/or enhance them to reflect the current real world populations and treatment practices. Achieve this by exploring the potential of available in house real-world data (electronic healthcare records, claims data, etc)
