RSS Riga, Latvia
Due to the continued high demand for RSS services, we created a satellite location in Riga, Latvia in 2023. The Riga office is part of the Roche Services & Solutions EMEA organization and complements the Budapest site in capabilities and capacities. The Riga office is planned to grow to more than 200 employees over the next 4-5 years, with talents in exciting and emerging fields such as Digital Marketing, Regulatory Capabilities, Agile Coaching, Project Management as well as Finance.

The Global Digital Hub has newly been established within Roche Services & Solutions Center. Our main purpose is to strengthen the digital capabilities of Roche globally by supporting central initiatives with Social Media Management, Brand Support, Digital Publishing Services, Marketing Automation, Copywriting and Creative Design.
About the position:
As a member of the Global Digital Hub Team, you will work to ensure fulfillment of the Global Digital Hub long term outcomes and strategy as well as excellent delivery of priorities. Your leadership is crucial in guiding the team towards achieving Roche’s Ten Year Ambitions. You're responsible for embedding the new operating model and exemplifying agile collaboration.
The Subchapter Lead has responsibility for supporting the strategic vision and direction of the chapter and continuously seeks opportunities for innovation and value creation.
Salary starts from 2 300 EUR gross/monthly. Final salary depends on the successful candidate's level of experience, skills and qualifications.
Key accountabilities and responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the operation of the Creative Design Subchapter, and team members ensuring the high effectiveness of assigned design activities within the Global Digital Hub.
- Onboard and develop team members by providing coaching and support, enabling them to execute design projects successfully and continuously improve their skills.
- Drive the embedding of the new operating model, serving as a role model for agile collaboration within the design subchapter.
- Effectively manage design resources, monitor their utilization, and ensure customer satisfaction within the subchapter.
- Foster capability development of the design team members, promoting a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and design excellence.
- Find, attract, develop, and retain top design talent, aligned with the evolving needs of the function and the business.
- Collaborate effectively with different chapters, subchapters, and other relevant teams to drive impactful design solutions and align with business and Global Digital Hub strategies.
- Support and lead cross-functional design initiatives, maintaining a global perspective and ensuring design contributions across departmental efforts.
- Provide recommendations to enhance service quality, responsiveness, and creative output to meet or exceed business partners expectations.
- Establish and maintain process governance principles, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to design best practices within the scope of the Creative Design Subchapters
- responsibility.
- Build strong relationships and align on strategic design priorities with other Subchapter Leads, fostering a collaborative environment for shared success.
- Professionally represent the Creative Design Subchapter with key stakeholders, promoting the value and impact of design within the organization.
- Support the embedding of the OneRoche mindset within the design subchapter and across the Global Digital Hub, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
Who you are:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Design, Visual Communication, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience working in design roles, preferably within large organizations, agencies, or startups
- 3+ years of experience in people development, coaching, and leadership, specifically within a design context
- Strong communication skills in English (written and spoken) are essential. Additional languages are a plus, based on region/customer requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate complex, multicultural, and highly matrixed environments
- Proficiency in project and change management, particularly within a design context
- End-to-end accountability, including a deep understanding of the design process, impact,
- and the ability to engage others to ensure successful design outcomes
- Strong problem-solvingskills, including analytical abilities, active listening, critical thinking,
- and a focus on sustainable and scalable design solutions
- Demonstrated growth mindset, including a willingness to take risks, experiment, seek new
- learning opportunities, and provide and receive feedback within the context of design
- Detail-oriented, well-organized, and efficient in managing design projects and time
- Ability to thrive under pressure, manage complex design challenges, and work independently
- while maintaining high design standards
