The Position

About the programme

Our Clinical Pharmacology Graduate Program is  designed to help you transition from academia to industry. You’ll progress through a 2-year program, gaining valuable experience and insights within our department: Translational Pharmacokinetics/Pharmacodynamics and Clinical Pharmacology (TPCP), to develop  and expand your scientific skills and knowledge in clinical development. Working and collaborating on dynamic projects across a range of therapeutic areas and modalities, you’ll find continuous opportunities to learn, develop and make a real impact. All whilst fuelling your curiosity, building lasting relationships, and working towards your personal and professional goals.

In TPCP, our purpose is to drive benefit to every patient by selecting the right drug and dosing regimen, and our work spans from early drug discovery right through to launch of drugs on the market.  The Clinical Pharmacology Graduate Program is a 2-year program that offers you the opportunity to get hands-on work experience and provides a strong foundation for a future career in Clinical Pharmacology.

You will gain insight into the work of Clinical Pharmacology professionals and learn how we provide Clinical Pharmacology support and leadership throughout the lifecycle of the product, that may include e.g. first-in-human, drug-drug interaction, bioavailability studies. You will develop expertise in quantitative concepts to assess PK, PD and immunogenicity of drugs including the reporting of Clinical Pharmacology information in regulatory submissions.  The program provides a broad foundational knowledge of Clinical Pharmacology through a mixture of hands-on work and custom built learning solutions.

  

After the 2-year program, you will be ready to enter the pharmaceutical industry, where you can make a real impact and continue in your learning and development journey.

Who are we looking for?

To be eligible for the traineeship:

  • You recently completed your degree  (M.Sc. or PhD) with no more than two years’ post-graduate work experience.

  • You  have a background in pharmacology, pharmacy, biology, chemistry, biochemistry or other science-related disciplines preferably with a focus in Clinical Pharmacology.

  • You demonstrate a genuine passion for science and a strong interest in drug discovery and development as a career.

  • You have excellent team-work skills and effective collaboration is one of your key strengths, with strong engagement and motivation capabilities. 

  • You demonstrate strategic thinking and analytical skills. 

  • You are able to work flexibly, in a self-organized and well-coordinated manner in a very dynamic environment.

  • You are someone that demonstrates a learning mindset and you are someone that seeks out personal growth and development

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills combined with curiosity and willingness to learn are essential.  Fluency in written and spoken English.

  • You will have a basic understanding of drug development and entry level understanding of the role of a Clinical Pharmacology professional
