Global Technical Development (PTD) is an organization of over two thousand people globally that are integral for the mission of Roche to develop meaningful medicines for patients. Therefore, PTD actively collaborates and develops creative technical solutions to bridge early-stage, late-stage and commercial product needs. The mandate of the group is, to reliably deliver the pipeline and supply quality products to patients. Synthetic Molecules Technical Development (PTDC) brings a broad range of experience across drug substance (DS), drug product (DP), analytical sciences and Manufacturing Science & Technology (MS&T), and collaborates closely with key partners in the departments Research and Early Development (pRED / gRED), Small and Large Molecules (PTC, PTB), PTD and MS&T across our manufacturing network.
In this role, based in the Particle Design section of the Solid State Science (PTDCP) department, you will be responsible for the following activities:

Development of methods for the large scale production of pharmaceuticals (drug substance) with tailor-made solid properties
·
Scale-up, scale-down and modeling of process steps in the field of solids process engineering (e.g. crystallization, filtration, drying, milling)
·
Assessment of typical parameters for the systematic characterization of unit operations (e.g. crystallization, filtration, drying, milling)
·
Development of non-established processes in the field of particle engineering
·
Cooperation with pharmaceutical technology department to define solid state properties for further processing
·
Scientific support of university projects
The developed processes will be optimized in an interdisciplinary team of professionals, piloted, and finally transferred to the production.

You are a Chemical or Process Engineer (TU/ETH, PhD((MSc)) with experience in the field of solid process engineering and particle characterization.
Your further qualifications are :

Proven experiences in molecular and/or process modelling
·
Effective in finding pragmatic solutions to existing solid process engineering problems
·
Ability to make the scientific results of your work understandable to employees with different backgrounds, to contribute to the achievement of the overall objective
·
Good IT skills
·
Good knowledge of German and English (oral and written)
