Job Title : Business Systems Analyst

Department : Informatics

Reports to: Manager, Business Solutions & PMO

Objective : The Business Systems Analyst maintains relationships with client organizations for the purpose of recommending, promoting and delivering technology and service solutions that are aligned to support Roche Canada's business objective.

Accountabilities :

Planning

·  Contribute to the central repository of information related to current applications portfolio: being familiar with activities underway locally, regionally and globally.
·  Explore new uses of technology within the organization, including staying abreast of new techniques and methods within the industry that potentially affect the provision of services to the client. Partner to share this knowledge for potential future requirements and capabilities.
·  As assigned, understand business requirements and identify solutions and/or services which match those requirements leveraging existing IT platforms and services where possible.
·  Define projects pursuant to plan objectives (e.g. project charter).
·  Contribute to the creation and maintenance of a 1-3-5 year planning process (e.g. technology plans) in order to support the annual budgeting process and 3 and 5 year planning process.

Relationship Management

·  Provide consulting services (e.g. technical evaluations, review of technical contracts) to the business organizations including researching technologies both proactively and in response to a specific client request.
·  In conjunction with the Services Delivery Teams, define and maintain SLA's for all critical services.

Project Management

Providing project management support to project sponsor by:

·  Creation of detail project plans with goals, resources, milestones, budget/costs, approach, project structure, risk management within the project organization.
·  Coordinate with delivery teams to ensure the service is planned and implemented according to the identified business requirements and defined project plan.

Communications

·  Ensures that key stakeholders are informed regarding project status and issues.
·  Ensures the proper communication and marketing of the Informatics Services.

Financial Management

·  Contribute to the budget/forecasting process.
·  Manage project costs as assigned.
·  Support proper assessment of investments. Additionally, perceive pay back of the investments made and ensure they have added value and they are not result of a technical vision.

Qualifications

Education

·  4-year Undergraduate Degree in BSc, BA, or BEng
·  Appropriate qualification in Computer Science, or related discipline or recognition of prior working experience which is equivalent.

Experience

·  More than 2 years' professional experience in the area of operational IT services
·  Experience in the pharmaceutical or other regulatory industry preferred
·  Understanding of technology and its role in the business
·  Experience in managing internal customer relationships

Skills / Knowledge

·  Good understanding of IT technical concepts, including ERP, CRM and Analytics tools
·  Good understanding of Windows technology and desktop productivity and collaboration tools
·  Certification in SCRUM or other Agile methodology is preferred.
·  Certified Business Analysis Professional or equivalent certification and work experience is preferred.
·  Experience with ITIL Service Management, Data Modelling and Project Management is an asset
·  Good knowledge of IT operational and user support processes
·  Excellent communication skills combined with excellent negotiation and persuasion skills
·  Knowledge of Project Management tools and techniques
·  Team Oriented and ability to work in a global environment
