The Position
The Position:
The Business Manager will support various leadership teams within the gRED Translational Medicine organization and serves as a strategic thought partner to help drive functional short-term and long-term business planning, strategy development and execution. This role reports into the Chief of Staff.
Job Responsibilities:
Partners with functional leaders (D/VP level) to independently drive results/outcomes and facilitate strategic decision making
Manages and facilitates leadership /project team meetings, including external partner meetings
Leads in meeting agenda preparation, organization of meetings, and generation of minutes.
Serves as a thought partner for goal setting and partner with teams to drive functional short-to-long-term business planning, strategy development, and execution
Supports business planning, such as budget review, resource forecasting, goals review, etc
Supports staff focused functional activities such as offsite planning, recognition events.
Embraces an enterprise mindset and is able to articulately connect functional activities to the broader organizational context.
Maintains a strong focus on people development and engagement. Facilitates planning and execution of activities that delivers on staff development and enhances engagement
Anticipates needs of leadership team and prompts actions and conversations that enhances team success
Balances needs of function and needs of overall organization
Problem solves by leveraging understanding of business and functional relationships to activate right people and solutions
Spends time connecting individuals and teams within function, across functions and across organizations
Understands and advises on functional priorities within the context of enabling larger organizational success
Advises on new approaches to address organizational needs and complex challenges within TM and broader organization
Who Are You:
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong presentation skills
Strong project management skills and very organized
Adept at fostering positive, transparent and productive relationships
Adapts quickly to rapidly changing business demands
Takes initiative to solve a wide range of difficult problems in creative ways
Proven ability to challenge current business standards and processes, with the ability to propose solutions
Proficient with skills in one or more of the following core business management areas:
Strategic planning
Business process management and improvement
Project management
Team facilitation
Communication and event planning
Experience in managing organizational cross-functional initiatives and/or business operations programs
Ability to develop and execute on change management and communication strategies
Experience in clinical development preferred
Broad organizational and business knowledge
Persons without formal degree who have comparable depth and breadth of training and experience and who meet job-specific criteria are eligible for consideration
Business or project management coursework or additional supportive training desired (e.g. PMP, Six Sigma, Lean, Design Thinking, Agile methodology, etc.)
The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California for Business Manager is $113,500-$210,700, and Senior Business Manager is $144,000- $267,400. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
