The Position

Department Summary

The Informatics Science & Research domain advances knowledge and drives innovation at the intersection of medical science and technology to fuel Discovery and Research across the Roche Group. 

We are seeking a highly talented and motivated summer intern to join our team. The successful candidate will use a variety of data analytics and data science techniques to explore, analyze and share insights from our data. As part of the experience, the candidate will gain valuable insight about potential in pursuing a career in IT/Informatics, as they will gain hands-on experience in a variety of advanced technologies in a professional environment.

This internship is located in Pleasanton, CA (On-site.)

Program Highlights

• Intensive 12-weeks, full time (40 hours per week) paid internship.

• Program start dates are in May/June (Summer)

• A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship. 

• Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.

• Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry.

Who You Are

Required Education:

Must be pursuing a Bachelor's Degree (enrolled student) with majors in Computer Science, Information Science, Data Science, statistics or related fields

Required skills: 

• Good understanding of data and analytics concepts

• Experience with data analysis using Python/R and related packages

• Intermediate to advanced SQL knowledge

• Ability to apply basic principles of data sciences and analytics to solve technical problems

• Knowledge in cloud technologies is a plus

Preferred Qualifications:

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to present and communicate concepts and ideas

• Able to learn new technologies or platforms quickly.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Pleasanton, CA is $45-$50 USD per hour.  Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
