Staff Accountant

Role Overview
Using generally accepted accounting principles, the Staff Account will monitor, manage, and control general ledger accounts, intercompany, as well as inventory business transactions. This includes analytical work and a careful examination of financial data. In addition to recognizing opportunities for improvement and streamlining processes within their purviews, this professional should demonstrate a high degree of initiative in meeting important accounting deadlines.
Responsibilities
· Collaborate with the Accounting, Brand Finance, Boutique Controlling, and Operations teams for the successful completion of core duties in the area of general ledger maintenance and reporting
· Execute all aspects of general accounting functions, recording journal entries, general ledger account reconciliations, balance sheet, and P&L analysis
· Monitor sales postings for all distribution channels - Retail, Wholesale & E-commerce
· Responsible for reviewing the trial balance and providing commentary for variances if necessary
· Ensure compliance with the annual unclaimed property filing requirements
· Engage in all aspects of inventory accounting including recording journal entries, account reconciliations, balance sheet analysis, and ad-hoc projects
· Responsible for posting and reconciling Intercompany Accounting with corresponding trading partners
· Prepare proper lease accounting entries on a monthly basis
· Ensure assigned key general ledger accounts are reconciled timely and appropriately stated in accordance with IFRS
· Analysis and reconciliation of gift certificates, merchandise credits, and customer deposit accounts
· Assist with continuous improvement projects within inventory and intercompany
· Participate in annual internal and external audits
Qualifications
· B.S. Degree in Accounting
· Minimum of two years of relevant experience
· Proficient in Microsoft Office programs: Excel (v-lookups, pivot tables, other Excel functions), Word & PowerPoint
· Experience with SAP or similar ERP system preferred
· Fixed asset and lease accounting experience a plus
· Ability to work both with a team and individually
· Strong organization and communication skills
