Purchasing Manager

Reports to: US Country Manager

 

Role Overview

Founded nearly twenty years ago in the UK, Watchfinder & Co has earned its reputation as the preowned expert in buying, servicing, selling and part-exchanging preowned luxury watches. It is also now a fast growing, global company – with our HQ in the UK, and teams and businesses in France, USA, Switzerland, and HK SAR.

Watchfinder’s success to date has been down to the skills, hard work and determination of the brilliant and diverse group of people we have hired across the globe.

 

Responsibilities

Business Performance & Operations

·  Leading the overall end-to-end purchasing process and make continuous improvements in order to provide excellent customer service.
·  Define the purchasing strategy, budget, sourcing funnels and KPIs, while ensuring a successful plan.
·  Drive performance to consistently achieve purchasing targets and KPIs which maximise profitability and margin contribution.
·  Analyze performance to identify business needs. Develop clear action plans to drive the business and performance locally in the USA. 
·  Work in partnership with Merchandising, Sales and Country Manager to devise the strategy and feedback updates and local nuances.
·  Analyse trend and marketing conditions for the present and future regional pricing, availability, and capacity of pre-owned luxury watches.
·  Communicating with stakeholders on a day-to-day basis to communicate purchasing and operational activity within the region.
·  Maintain a 360* understanding on the preowned industry, its players, the pricing positioning and product trends.

 

Vendor Management

·  Collaborate and be in contact with the Richemont Maison’s on regional purchasing and part exchange initiatives.
·  Account Manage current Trade Partners, ensuring that we deliver against SLA’s and KPI’s.
·  Manage, improve, and further extend our regional partner network for purchasing and Part Exchange.
·  Ensure a compliancy and accounting accuracy at all stage.

 

Client Experience/Continuous improvement

·  Analyse client experience and satisfaction metrics and KPI to ensure constant top performance.
·  Implement local projects that drive automation and scalability locally. Projects that enhance our customer experience and purchase journeys for our clients.

 

Leadership, Motivation And Stakeholder Management:

·  Create and engaging culture that focuses on building long-term relationships through the connection and relation of the brand and brand values.

 

People Management

·  Build high performing teams: Attract people with a winning attitude to succeed; develop and drive individual and team performance through an open feedback culture. Responsible for identifying top and rising talents and developing them in collaboration with HR and HQ.
·  Provide leadership and direction for the teams ensuring they have clarity and are enabled to successfully drive and support the overall company direction.
·  Set individual objectives and KPI’s, provide guidance and conduct regular appraisals of team members, ensuring the proper development of personnel and supporting the growth of talents.

 

Agility:

·  Experience of navigating ambiguity and change with an entrepreneurial mindset.
·  Data-driven mindset and an aptitude for technology and digital tools.
·  Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, ability to work transversally with other departments and countries.

 

Qualifications

 

·  Experienced in a manager capacity in Category Management either in the Pre-Owned space, stock trading, or Retail environment.
·  Must have a proven track record in taking ownership, driving results, and moving with speed to implement ideas in a fast-paced environment
·  Strong communication skills, a relationship builder.
·  Experience and strong ability to manage complex business processes.
